On Monday, former Trump aide Sam Nunberg made the rounds on multiple national news programs in which he claimed the Trump campaign colluded with Russian officials and that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had something on the president.

Nunberg's statements prompted those close to him to express concern that he had started drinking again and was possibly drunk when he called into CNN and MSNBC.

However, late on Monday, Nunberg went into CNN's studios to do a segment with CNN’s Erin Burnett on OutFront, where the host confronted him after she said it appeared he had been drinking.

"Talking to you, I have smelled alcohol on your breath," Burnett said.

"I haven't had a drink," Nunberg replied, adding he hadn't taken anything "besides my meds, anti-depressants, is that okay?"
