Heather Locklear Arrested For Domestic Violence, Battery Against Cop

According to multiple reports, Heather Locklear was arrested Sunday after deputies responded to a domestic violence call from a home in Thousand Oaks, CA. After a reportedly "combative" encounter with law enforcement, she was taken in for felony domestic violence and three counts of misdemeanor battery against an officer.

TMZ reports that Locklear's brother made the call after arriving at his sister's home to find her fighting with her boyfriend. "We're told cops observed that the boyfriend had a visible mark," TMZ adds.

The outlet's sources in law enforcement say that Locklear became confrontational with police, "flailing, kicking" and hitting deputies. She was finally handcuffed and "taken to the hospital for evaluation."

Thousand Oaks PD Capt. Dean Cook confirmed reports of the arrest to Variety. "Police responded to the scene around 9:40 p.m," Variety reports. "Locklear was then booked at Ventura County Jail, but is no longer is custody."

This isn't the first time that the actress has made headlines for "domestic assault." Back in 2011, she was engaged in some sort of "physical altercation" with her former boyfriend Jack Wagner that resulted in a court hearing.

"The parties came in for an office hearing on February 9, 2012," Los Angeles City Attorney spokesperson Frank Mateljian told Radar Online at the time. "Ms. Locklear and Mr. Wagner had a discussion, and that was the end of it. No charges will be filed in the matter, and the case is closed."

While no charges were filed, the incident may have prompted a drug-related incident for the actress that resulted in her temporary hospitalization.

"Locklear has reportedly been taking Xanax to manage her anxiety in the wake of her messy split," the Daily Mail reported in February 2012. "The combination of prescription pills and alcohol caused her sister Colleen to call 911 on January 12. She was then rushed to the emergency room but released a day later into the care of her family."
