WATCH: ABC Reporter Links Florida Massacre With White House's 'Turmoil' Over Rob Porter

She's conflated issues to attack Trump in the past, too.

It is not a shock at all to hear members of the media connect anything they can to President Trump in order to take a shot at him, but on Wednesday, ABC reporter Cecilia Vega reached a new nadir. As Newsbusters noted, Vega was giving a live report on the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, when she tied in the Rob Porter issue as she spoke to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos.

Vega stated:

Just a few minutes ago, we did hear from White House Deputy Press Secretary Lindsay Walters who told us that President Trump has been briefed on this shooting in Florida. We're told that the White House is actively monitoring the situation and of course, they extend their thoughts and prayers to those who are affected. Strangely enough this is the second alert that this White House has had to send out today. The second time the President briefed on a shooting, of course earlier, that incident at Fort Meade and they sent out a very statement about that. We are expecting a briefing in the hour from Press Secretary Sarah Sanders. And of course, as you know, George, this very tragic incident comes as this White House is in turmoil right now over this with this Rob Porter scandal. So they’ve got a lot on their plate here today.

Stephanopoulos replied, “They have a lot going on there today.”

Vega is used to conflating issues to try to make Trump look bad; last September, when Trump had attacked NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem, she conflated Trump’s remarks about the NFL players with his statements after the violence in Charlottesville, asking White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, “Does the president believe that there are ‘very fine people’ who kneeled yesterday during those games, or are they all SOB’s?"
