The letter addressed to Donald Trump Jr. that contained a suspicious white powder which led to his wife being transported to a local hospital made threatening remarks, law enforcement sources say.

“You are an awful person. This is why people hate you. You are getting what you deserve. So shut the f— up,” the letter supposedly says, according to law enforcement officials who briefed the New York Post on the letter's contents.

The note was reportedly postmarked in Boston and delivered to the residence of Trump Jr.'s mother-in-law by mid-morning on Monday.

Upon opening the letter and seeing the white powder, Trump Jr.'s wife Vanessa immediately called 911 and placed the letter and the powder in a plastic bag.

The Post reports that the substance is believed to be cornstarch.

On Tuesday, a letter containing a white powder was delivered to former President Barack Obama's D.C. office which prompted an emergency response from local officials. Officials indicated that they believe the white powder was baby powder.
