In the Fox Business Network's undercard debate Thursday, Carly Fiorina kicked off the event by taking aim at Hillary Clinton and her famously philandering husband. "[U]nlike another woman in this race, I actually love spending time with my husband," said Fiorina. The response from the audience was, well, enthusiastic to say the least.

In her opening remarks, Fiorina emphasized her outsider status and wasted no time taking shots at her two biggest opponents: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, portraying them both as beneficiaries of crony capitalism.

"I’m not a political insider," said Fiorina. "I haven’t spent my lifetime running for office. The truth is, I have had, and been blessed by a lot of opportunities to do a lot of things in my life, and unlike another woman in this race, I actually love spending time with my husband."

After a lengthy pause to allow for the audience's full range of responses—a riotous mixture of laughs, cheers, groans, and thunderous applause—Fiorina continued, taking her criticism of Hillary in a more serious direction, and pulling Trump into her critique by saying crony capitalists like him "buy" politicians like her.

"I'm standing here because I think we have to restore a citizen government in this country," she said. "I think we have to end crony capitalism. The crony capitalism that starts with both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. You know, Hillary Clinton sits inside government and rakes in millions handing out access and favors, and Donald Trump sits outside government, and rakes in billions buying people like Hillary Clinnton."

Fiorina went on to say that "our economy is not strong," underscoring that there are "record numbers women living in poverty" the growing lack of belief in the American dream among the younger generation. She ended her populist message by saying, "Citizens, it’s time to take our country back."
