Newsweek just out-Newsweeked itself.

The outlet's latest cover story, titled "How Donald Trump rules America's Garden of Dicks and sparked the #MeToo movement," claims President Donald Trump "sparked" the #MeToo movement, which was largely precipitated by the onslaught of recent sexual harassment and assault allegations launched at left-leaning Hollywood big-wigs such as producer and Democratic mega-donor Harvey Weinstein.

The outrageous cover boats a photo of an orange blow-up penis being popped by a female with a pin, a clear juvenile hit on Trump.

"Pop goes the weasels," reads the main caption. "#MeToo is taking down powerful men in all fields. Is Donald Trump next?"

Yes, Newsweek somehow found a way to blame President Trump for the recent flurry of alleged sexual misconduct levied against leftists such as Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Mark Halperin, Alec Baldwin, Ben Affleck, Oliver Stone, Ed Westwick. And the list goes on.

This might be the most serious case of whataboutism we've seen thus far from the distrusted media. The actual piece suggests Trump's past nasty language and alleged inappropriate actions with women somehow excuses or enables the seeming epidemic of sexual harassment in Hollywood and the media.

People from both sides of the aisle found fault in the cover:

Pull it together, Newsweek.
