Yeonmi Park, who fled North Korea in 2007 and is now a student at Columbia University in New York City, will be among the speakers at the 2017 Students For Liberty Regional Conference at New York University.
Park gained international attention when she tearfully addressed the 2014 One Young World conference — detailing the horrors of North Korean communism and her escape to freedom. Her memoir, In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl's Journey to Freedom, was published in 2015.
Park's inclusion indicates a significant change in the way Students For Liberty deals with issues beyond America's boarders.
The conference will be held on November 4 at New York University’s Grand Hall.
