Now that feckless GOP lawmakers have ensured that Obamacare never gets repealed, the organization that stood to lose the most — abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood — is celebrating the failing health care law's "victory."

In line with President Trump's campaign promise, the Graham-Cassidy Bill to repeal and replace Obamacare did include a provision to strip Planned Parenthood of its $500 million in taxpayer funds, which forces Americans to become complicit in the murderous, lucrative enterprise. No surprise then that Cecile Richards is now celebrating the bill's defeat, assured by two-faced Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), RINO Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), and "muh principles" Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY).

Celebrating the bill's defeat in an email to supporters, Richards said, without a hint of irony, that immense "suffering" had been avoided and congratulated her followers for never giving up on the cause.

"VICTORY!" Richard's email said in the headline.

"We did it! The Senate just pulled its disastrous Trumpcare bill," she said. "We won for one big reason: You refused to give up. They bet on us being too tired, too demoralized to keep fighting — but they bet wrong."

"It’s hard to fathom the amount of suffering this disastrous Graham-Cassidy bill would have caused," she continued. "Of all the terrible versions of Trumpcare we’ve seen this year, this was by far the most extreme: Blocking patients from care at Planned Parenthood."

She continued: "Make no mistake: This bill would have been a tragedy for millions of Americans. We averted this national disaster because hundreds of thousands of people like you made sure our lawmakers knew just how many people opposed this toxic bill. You called. You rallied. You emailed. You shared. You tweeted. You donated. At every turn, you refused to give up."

Pro-lifers have responded to the gloating Richards with contempt. American Life League president Judie Brown called Obamacare's incestuous relationship with abortion conglomerate Planned Parenthood "demonic hatred for innocent babies."

"Planned Parenthood’s celebration over the defeat of the latest effort to repeal and replace Obamacare is but one more example of its demonic hatred for innocent babies, not to mention its disregard for mothers. We must work harder than ever to defund these bloodthirsty advocates of death by abortion," she said in an email to LifeNews.

Jim Sedlak, executive director of ALL and director of Stop Planned Parenthood International (STOPP), said the bill's defeat indicates that Republicans do not stand with the unborn alongside the so-called "pro-life" Democrats who always vote with their party.

For the second time the pro-life community has worked very hard to support legislation to defund Planned Parenthood only to see the bill not pass. We hope it is clear to those in Congress that Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins will never ever vote for a bill that defunds Planned Parenthood. It is also clear that the few pro-life Democrats in the Senate will always vote with their party and not with the babies. Part of American Life League’s mission is to witness the closing of every local Planned Parenthood medical facility in the country. We have already witnessed the closing of 35 percent (333) of its facilities since 1995, and we will not stop until all are peacefully and prayerfully closed.

No bill to repeal and replace Obamacare or defund Planned Parenthood appears to be in the works anytime soon.
