White House advisor Kellyanne Conway ripped into the Emmys and the constant Trump-bashing on Monday during an interview with Fox and Friends.
When asked about what she thought of the celebrities bashing President Donald Trump at the awards ceremony, she replied, “I guess it’s sort of the sameness. They got plucked and polished and waxed, some of them didn’t eat for two months … and for what? To sound the same?”
Conway reminisced about how the television awards show used to be about celebrating your favorite programs. She said, “If you’re an American and you're tuning into watch your favorite actors and actresses and shows and I used to do it routinely as a kid.”
She continued, “There is very little of that. It’s between the Emmys, the Miss America pageant was very politicized. Our sports are very politicized. It looks like the ratings are suffering, it looks like America is responding by tuning out.” She said, “Because they want you to stick to your knitting, I guess in this case read other stuff other people write for you. They’re welcome to their opinion but how does it really fit?”
Conway talked about how the Hollywood elite are alienating Americans with virtue signaling, and their out-of-touch opinions on critical issues — and pointed out how alienating 50% of the voting public is just bad business.
“I’d like to tie it all together here, people have the right to speak freely … but again to what end?” she said. “In other words, you’re alienating at least 63 million Americans who supported this president last time, but you're alienating many more who want the president to succeed. And you’re showing the world that you’re so easy with an insult about our leader. I think that’s really unfortunate actually.”
