On Sunday morning, after Eric Lipton, an investigative reporter for The New York Times, decided to take a potshot at Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio for denouncing white supremacists for the Saturday violence in Charlottesville, Virginia., Cruz fired back with a withering response that essentially left both Lipton and the Times looking like shredded underwear.

Lipton tweeted:

Cruz then shot back:

In case anyone didn’t know what Cruz was referring to when he referenced the Times supporting the murderous Soviet dictator, he offered a link so they could educate themselves:

In the immediate aftermath of the Saturday attack by a white supremacist on leftist counter-protesters, in which one woman was killed and 19 other people were injured, Cruz called for a DOJ investigation:

Rubio immediately responded, too, tweeting:

This isn’t the first time Cruz has eviscerated his critics from the media on Twitter; back in January he slammed down Deadspin, as delineated here.
