A father of three was killed last Thursday by a negligent Mexican driver in Omaha, Nebraska.

Silvano Torres, 58, was killed by Nemias Garcia-Velasco, 32.

Garcia-Velasco is illegally in the country, having previously been removed from the U.S. seven times — five times in 2005, once in 2009, and once in 2011.

Garcia-Velasco was driving while drunk, telling law enforcement that he had consumed 12 beers. His blood alcohol level was .243 — more than three times the legal limit of .08 — when checked at a hospital after the crash.

Torres was killed in his burning vehicle after the crash caused his van to be engulfed in flames.

After being arrested, Garcia-Velaso’s bail was set at $2 million.
