Gay Orgy…In Vatican City?

According to reports from Italy, Vatican police officials broke up a gay sex orgy at a flat belonging to the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, the holy office tasked with targeting sexual abuse from clergy members.

The secretary for Cardinal Francesco Coccopalmerio, who is one of Pope Francis' top advisors, is currently residing at the home and presumably organized the gay orgy last month.

After neighbors surrounding the flat notified police officials about having witnessed "irregular behaviour," drugs and a group of males engaging in sex acts were found by officers, local reports claim.

"Coccopalmerio heads the Pontifical Council for Legislative texts and was said to have once recommended his secretary for a promotion to bishop," notes The Daily Mail.

The flat where the alleged drug-fueled gay orgy took place is located in Vatican City and is only a short distance from the Vatican.

Cardinal Coccopalmerio's secretary was sent to a detox facility after the gay orgy was busted, claims Italian outlet Il Fatto Quotidiano.

The Catholic Church was rocked by another scandal last week when Cardinal George Pell was charged with past sexual offenses, though Pell has denied such charges.

"I am looking forward finally to having my day in court. I repeat that I am innocent of these charges. They are false," Pell, 76, told the media. "The whole idea of sexual abuse is abhorrent to me."

The leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, has tried to crack down on misbehavior from clergy members, emphasizing the need to resist temptation.
