After an Associated Press story was released on Wednesday, offering details regarding James T. Hodgkinson, the gunman who shot House Republican Steve Scalise and four other people, Noah Rothman of Commentary offered a succinct response to point out the hypocrisy of the Left, which has studiously tried to ignore Hodgkinson’s leftist credentials:
Although the article took pains to suggest Hodgkinson had no concrete plans to attack Republicans, Rothman was referring to this tidbit in the AP article: “Hodgkinson also visited the office of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, whose campaign he had worked on as a volunteer, and was in email contact with the two Democratic senators from his home state.”
Rothman was also referring to this, from a letter Hodgkinson wrote to the editor of the Belleville News-Democrat: “One of my favorite TV shows is ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ on MSNBC.”
As for the Jared Lee Loughner reference, The New York Times ran a rancid editorial falsely linking Loughner, the shooter who targeted Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords in 2011, with a map issued by a PAC associated with Sarah Palin. Thirteen people were injured and six others were killed in the shooting, among them federal judge John Roll and a nine-year-old child, Christina-Taylor Green.
