According to The Local, a witness to the brutal, throat-slitting murder of a father and son asserted that the killer made remarks "linked to radical Islam.”
Another son of the father, 30 years old, was arrested in connection with the murders; he is now in a secure psychiatric unit, reports say. One victim was found in the courtyard; another was found in the lobby near the mailboxes.
The murders were committed on a busy street in broad daylight, according to The Sun. One resident told Le Parisien, "I came down and saw one body in the hall and another in the courtyard. There was blood everywhere.” Le Figaro cited a police source who said the murderer shouted "Allahu Akbar." Le Figaro quoted a neighbor saying of the suspected assailant, “He had been radicalized recently. But that did not please his family. This is probably why he killed them.”
The attack occurred in Paris’ 11th district near Place de la Nation.
One witness told AFP, "There was another man standing beside him, dressed in a white djellaba (loose-fitting tunic worn by some Muslims). He fell to his knees and prayed until the police came to take him away.”
SWAT teams were sent to the scene.
