The Left and its enablers in the media have worked in concert to use the actions of what appears to be a full-fledged lunatic on the pro-life movement and Republicans. When reporters tried to suggest the attack on Planned Parenthood by Robert Lewis Dear was inspired by pro-life advocacy, Ted Cruz (R-Texas) wouldn't let it stand, blasting the "vicious rhetoric on the left blaming those who are pro-life" for the actions of a "deranged" individual.

Cruz's comments came at a campaign stop in Iowa on Sunday. When one reporter noted suggestively that Dear allegedly mentioned "baby parts" when being questioned by authorities, the Texas senator dismissed the implications.

"It’s also been reported that he was registered as an independent and a woman and transgendered leftist activist, if that’s what he is," said Cruz according to The Huffington Post. "We know that he was a man who was registered to vote as a woman. The media promptly wants to blame him on the pro-life moment when at this point there is very little evidence to suggest that."

When a reporter asked if he would call the shooting an act of "domestic terrorism," Cruz warned against jumping to conclusion but said he'd call it "murder" by what appears to be an unhinged man.

"It was a multiple murder of what appears to be a deranged individual," said Cruz. "And it was horrific, it was evil and we will find out more about the facts, but I don’t think we should jump to conclusions."

Dear's criminal history and "delusional and aggressive" social behavior indeed paints the picture of a "deranged" man.

"He was the kind of person you had to watch out for," one former neighbor told The Washington Post. "He was a very weird individual. It’s hard to explain, but he had a weird look in his eye most of the time."

"He was really tightly wound. You could see that from the stress on his face, from the way he acted," said another former neighbor.

"He complained about everything,” said another former neighbor. "He said he worked with the government, and everybody was out to get him, and he knew the secrets of the U.S.A. He said, 'Nobody touch me, because I’ve got enough information to put the whole U.S. of A in danger.' It was very crazy."

Some of his neighbors said Dear's behavior made them fear for the safety of their children.

He has an arrest record in both North Carolina and South Carolina, including being arrested for domestic violence against his former wife, who didn't press charges, and charged with being a "peeping Tom" and with two counts of cruelty toward animals, both of which resulting in not guilty rulings.
