In a series of events being enthusiastically promoted by the university's paper, the "Knights of Socialism" club at the University of Central Florida is training students to "BASH THE FASH."
In what is being billed as a "Leftist Fight Club," the socialist group has brought in an amateur boxer to help everyone, except Republicans — who have been barred from attending — to fight back amidst "the rise of Donald Trump and other Alt-Right Neo-Nazis."
The first of the "self-defense" clinics, held Sunday, was announced by the Knights for Socialism on Facebook. Below is the full announcement, which underscores that it is "open to everyone and anyone, EXCEPT REPUBLICANS" and describes Trump as the "Commander in thief" and "a sexual predator and rapist":
In response to the record number of hate crimes against Latinxs, Immigrants, Muslims, Women, the LGBTQIA+ community, Jews, African Americans and other minorities since the rise of Donald Trump and other Alt-Right Neo-Nazis,
Knights for Socialism has decided to host a series of self-defense clinics for anyone that wants to learn how to BASH THE FASH.
*For our first seminar, a local amateur boxer will teach us the basics of hand to hand combat. Following his instruction, we will all have the opportunity to face off against one another and practice what we've learned.
*We will have gloves and pads, no bare-knuckle yet ;)
*Even if you would only like to observe we invite you to join us! Don't wait until it's too late to learn how to defend yourself!
*This event is open to everyone and anyone, EXCEPT REPUBLICANS.
*Ladies: The Commander in thief is a sexual predator and rapist. He has normalised sexual assault and it is expected that sexual violence against women is going to skyrocket in the next 12 months. Please join us!
The group, of course, provides no evidence for its key claims, including the "record number of hate crimes" against all the marginalized communities it lists, nor its accusation that Trump is a "rapist." The group also chooses to present the "self-defense" seminar from the aggressor's perspective, openly stating it is being offered for those who want to "learn how to BASH THE FASH," rather than those who want to defend against being bashed by the supposed hoards of violent pro-Trumpers/Republicans.
Campus Reform spoke with UCF College Republican member Scott Benton about the socialist group's advocacy of violence. "If you can’t hang with someone on a debate stage, then you resort to other means to try and justify your cause," said Benton.
"Other students, however, say they feel less safe on campus because of the event," Campus Reform's Lauren Cooley reports. The overt exclusion of Republicans, students pointed out, also flies in the face of UCF's policies.
Below is a screenshot (via Campus Reform) of one charged up announcement for the fascist bashing training:
Cooley reports that an administrator is "looking further" into the "BASH THE FASH" training session after being notified bout the "disturbing event" by a student.
Despite all the dire warnings and claims of victimhood by the left, as the Berkeley riots and the attack on Gavin McInnes at NYU highlight, the reality on the ground is that most of the concerted violence is being carried out by the fascistic "anti-Fascists" against those they deem to be supporters of Trump.
By the way, while UCF's student paper cheers on the violence-promoting socialist club's event, the student government at California's Santa Clara University just shut told conservatives they can't have a "pro-capitalism" club.
