On Tuesday, President-elect Donald Trump's top aide Kellyanne Conway protested Trump was never briefed on a summary of the now-infamous dossier that claimed Russia collected compromising info on him.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Conway at first tried to deflect a question about Trump being aware of the summary. Meyers asked, “Can you confirm or comment on the fact that the intelligence community has presented this to Donald Trump?”

Conway replied, “Well, guess what hasn't happened, Seth, Nobody has sourced it. They’re all unnamed, unspoken sources in the story and it says it was based on a Russian investigator to begin with."

Meyers pointed out, “It was based on a MI6 British investigator.”

Conway answered:

Right, One of those; and it says that it also may have originated with a Russian investigator. It also says that Hillary Clinton and groups that wanted Hillary Clinton to win may have behind the investigations themselves. Most importantly, it says that the FBI is trying to confirm it, so nothing ‘s been confirmed. I have to say as an American citizen, regardless of your party, or if you don’t like politics at all, which are many Americans, we should be concerned that intelligence officials leaked to the press, and won’t go tell the president elect or the president of the United States, Mr. Obama, what the information is. They would rather go tell the press --

Meyers interrupted, “But the press report was about them going to the president.”

Conway: “And it says that they never briefed him on it, that they appended two pages to the bottom of the intelligence report.”

Meyers: “I believe it said they did brief him on it.”

Conway: “Well, he has said he is not aware of that.”

Conway’s claim disputes CNN’s contention that the Intelligence Community briefed Trump and President Obama last week with a two-page synopsis of the dossier, offered as an appendix to the main intelligence report which has made its way through the intelligence community. The Hill reports: “The synopsis was reportedly included in part to show that Russia was partial to Trump over Hillary Clinton, choosing not releasing damaging information about him.”

“Well, he has said he is not aware of that.”

On Wednesday, CNN doubled down:

Classified documents presented last week to President Obama and President-elect Trump included allegations that Russian operatives claim to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump, multiple US officials with direct knowledge of the briefings tell CNN. The allegations were presented in a two-page synopsis that was appended to a report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.
