Palestinian Dictator: We’ll Never Recognize Israel’s Existence

For all those folks out there who continually equate Israel’s desire for peace with that of the Palestinian Arabs around them, we have some unequivocal proof that you are deluded.

On Wednesday, the day after he was re-elected by consensus as Fatah leader, Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of Fatah and the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), said bluntly in front of joint attendees from Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorist groups, both of whom have sworn to destroy Israel and were invited directly by Fatah, that Fatah will never give up its fight against the Jewish state.

Abbas said the Palestinian Arabs will not recognize Israel as it is constituted as a Jewish state, and that the PA is attempting to pressure Great Britain into rescinding the 1917 Balfour Declaration, which stated the government’s desire for a Jewish home in what is now Israel. Abbas even wants Great Britain to apologize for the Declaration, correct the "injustice" done to the Palestinian Arabs and recognize the “State of Palestine.”

The Balfour Declaration read:

His Majesty's government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.

Of course, “Palestine” was the name the Romans gave to the are after their protracted war against the Jews, wanting to erase the fact that Jews lived there and naming the area after the ancient enemies of the Jews, the Philistines.

Abbas wants to erase any Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria; last week, his spokesman demanded that Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu eliminate the Jewish presence in those areas, recognize a two-state solution and agree to an international peace conference offered by France, which would surely feature the nations of the world threatening Israel yet again.
