Actor Kevin Spacey says he is homeless and is living out of Airbnb rentals and hotels after a sexual abuse scandal destroyed his career.
The 66-year-old Academy Award-winner detailed his struggles in a recent <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/11/19/kevin-spacey-interview-cancelled/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">interview</a> with The Telegraph, saying he lost his Maryland residence, where he had lived for 12 years, and is no longer a property owner.
“I’m going where the work is,” Spacey told the outlet. “I literally have no home, that’s what I’m attempting to explain.”
The actor has faced multiple sexual misconduct allegations, including a high-profile civil lawsuit from actor Anthony Rapp. A New York jury found him not liable in 2022. Spacey was also charged with nine counts of sexual assault involving four men, citing incidents between 2001 and 2013, but he was acquitted of all charges in 2023. Several other cases were dropped or dismissed. 
Despite Spacey never being convicted, his career was destroyed, and he’s been complaining about financial struggles recently.

“The costs over these last seven years have been astronomical,” the actor said. “I’ve had very little coming in and everything going out.”
“You get through it. In weird ways, I feel I’m back to where I first started, which is I just went where the work was,” Spacey added. “Everything is in storage, and I hope at some point, if things continue to improve, that I’ll be able to decide where I want to settle down again.”
The “American Beauty” actor said he just wants to return to acting and is hoping a major Hollywood player steps in to help him relaunch his career.
“We are in touch with some extremely powerful people who want to put me back to work,” Spacey told The Telegraph. “And that will happen in its right time. But I will also say what I think the industry seems to be waiting for is to be given permission – by someone who is in some position of enormous respect and authority.”
“So, my feeling is if Martin Scorsese or Quentin Tarantino call [manager] Evan [Lowenstein] tomorrow, it will be over,” he went on. “I will be incredibly honored and delighted when that level of talent picks up the phone.”
Spacey received a lifetime achievement award at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. During his acceptance <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsQQrL-c_5w">speech</a>, he said he had “come out the other side of these last few challenging years not angry, not bitter, not resentful, but more present, more loving, more understanding and more forgiving than I ever have been in my life.”

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> became emotional during an interview with British TV personality <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/piers-morgan">Piers Morgan</a>, saying he was broke and owed millions in legal fees.
The 64-year-old “House of Cards” star has been involved in a number of sexual assault <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lawsuit">lawsuits</a> over the past few years. Even though Spacey won some, he said they left him with no money. His conversation with Morgan was the first long interview he’s given since charges were filed, per <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/tv/news/kevin-spacey-broke-epstein-piers-morgan-interview-b2561049.html">The Independent</a>. 
“It&#8217;s been a very interesting and, I think, an important couple of weeks where I&#8217;ve had an opportunity to start to be able to talk about things that, well, for me, in some cases I&#8217;ve never talked about before, and to take accountability for those places where I have behaved badly, and to hopefully put some facts out there that maybe a great majority of the public don&#8217;t know about,” he told Morgan on “Piers Morgan Uncensored.” 
Morgan asked what the actor meant by “behaved badly.” Spacey replied, “Pushing the boundaries. Being too handsy. Touching someone sexually in a way that I didn’t know at the time they didn’t want.”
Spacey broke down in tears when Morgan asked where he was living. He mentioned that his house in Baltimore was being foreclosed on and sold at auction due to his legal debts.

When Morgan asked if he was facing bankruptcy, Spacey said, “There’s been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file, but we’ve managed to sort of dodge it, at least as of today.” 
When asked how much money he had, the actor said “none” and then clarified, “I still owe a lot of legal bills” to the tune of “many millions.”
“I’m not quite sure where I’m going to live now,” Spacey said. “I’ve spent so many years not wanting to talk about myself and avoiding questions about my personal life and my sexuality,” the actor, who is gay, added. 
“I’ve come out of all this not bitter, not angry, not resentful,” the actor told Morgan. 
When the interviewer asked him about flaws, Spacey responded, “There were bouts with arrogance. There were bouts with ego…My goal is now to prove that I am a man of good character.”

Spacey also discussed his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which he claims has been overblown. He tried to justify a photograph of him sitting with Epstein’s confidante Ghislaine Maxwell on the thrones at Buckingham Palace in 2002.
He said President Bill Clinton had invited him on a humanitarian aid trip to South Africa.
“I didn’t want to be around [Epstein] because I felt he put the president at risk on that trip to South Africa, because there were these young girls,” Spacey told Morgan. “We were like, ‘Who is this guy?’”
“So, we flew then to London, and the president said to me, ‘Before we leave tomorrow, do you want to come? I am going to go to Buckingham Palace tomorrow to see Prince Andrew, do you want to come?’” he continued. “I said, ‘Sure.’”
He said that’s when the photo was taken. “This Maxwell woman, she was one of many people to sit down next to me in that throne room,” Spacey continued. “I have no relationship with her. I had no relationship with [Epstein]. I mean he’s not my friend. I am not a confidant. I’ve never spent time with him.”

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sharon-stone">Sharon Stone</a> and Liam Neeson are upset that <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> was canceled in the Hollywood community.
After multiple men came forward and accused the actor of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-abuse">sexual abuse</a> at the height of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/metoo">#MeToo</a> movement in 2017, Spacey was removed from projects and hasn’t been cast in many roles since. Spacey has claimed his innocence all along. Actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of sexually assaulting him as a minor but ultimately lost his lawsuit in 2022. Spacey was acquitted of further sexual abuse charges in 2023.
Stone and Neeson both spoke to <a href="https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/05/15/kevin-spacey-return-to-acting-sharon-stone-liam-neeson/">The Telegraph</a> and said winning those court cases meant he should be offered major roles again.
“I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work,” Stone told the outlet. “He is a genius. He is so elegant and fun, generous to a fault and knows more about our craft than most of us ever will.”
Stone also suggested that some of Spacey’s accusers may have “secret agendas.”
“Taken” star Neeson agreed with Stone’s assessment, saying Hollywood “needs” and “misses” Spacey.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of these accusations against him. Kevin is a good man and a man of character. He’s sensitive, articulate and non-judgmental, with a terrific sense of humor,” the actor said. “He is also one of our finest artists in the theater and on camera. Personally speaking, our industry needs him and misses him greatly.”
Most recently, Spacey spoke out against an upcoming British documentary called “Spacey Unmasked,” which is expected to detail past and additional sexual misconduct allegations.

But I cannot and will not take responsibility or apologize to anyone who&#8217;s made up stuff about me or exaggerated stories about me,&#8221; the two-time Academy Award winner said in an interview with former GB News presenter Dan Wootton.
&#8220;That may not have been the best decision and it&#8217;s not one that I would do today. But it happened,&#8221; Spacey said. &#8220;It wasn&#8217;t illegal, and nor has it ever been alleged to have been illegal.&#8221;
The &#8220;House of Cards&#8221; star said during the Wootten interview that he was suspicious of the timing of the documentary, noting how it’s coming at a time when he’s just starting to be offered roles in small, independent projects. 
“Despite the challenges and the difficulties and the pain and the bad days, I’ve also witnessed the most beautiful demonstrations of friendship and love and family,” the actor said.

<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> is facing new sexual assault allegations from nearly a dozen men in an upcoming U.K. documentary and has hit back, claiming he’s “being attacked” to boost ratings.
Channel 4’s “Spacey Unmasked” two-part documentary highlights accusations from a variety of men who accused the “House of Cards” star of sexual misconduct over the span of five decades, ranging from his teenage years to his time as a star in Hollywood, <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/kevin-spacey-unmasked-sexual-assault-doc-channel-4-1235889449/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to The Hollywood Reporter. It also includes accusations from his time as an artistic director at London’s Old Vic theater from 2004-2015.
“I felt like I was staring at a soulless monster,” Daniel, an actor, said in the documentary produced by RoastBeef productions.
Another actor named Scott alleged, “If you don’t pay the toll in sexual favors, you’ll have a decent career, but you won’t see your name in lights.”
None of the men featured in the documentary were involved in Spacey’s sexual assault trial in London last year that resulted in the 64-year-old actor being acquitted.
And all but one have never spoken out to accuse Spacey of various sexual misconduct, the outlet noted.

Following news of the upcoming documentary, Spacey took to <a href="https://x.com/KevinSpacey/status/1786080999526322465">X</a> and wrote, “I will not sit back and be attacked by a dying network’s one-sided ‘documentary’ about me in their desperate attempt for ratings.”
“There’s a proper channel to handle allegations against me and it’s not Channel 4,” Spacey said. “Each time I have been given the time and a proper forum to defend myself, the allegations have failed under scrutiny and I have been exonerated.”
“Over the last week, I have repeatedly requested that Channel4 afford me more than 7 days to respond to allegations made against me dating back 48 years and provide me with sufficient details to investigate these matters,” he added.

“Channel 4 has refused on the basis that they feel that asking for a response in 7 days to new, anonymized and non-specific allegations is a ‘fair opportunity’ for me to refute any allegations made against me,” Spacey continued. &#8220;Channel 4 and RoastBeef TV may find themselves ‘speechless,’ but I no longer will be.”
Channel 4 released a statement to THR that read, “Kevin Spacey has been given sufficient opportunity to respond.”

The actor also took a moment to thank his fans for &#8220;all your support through all these years. It&#8217;s meant so much to me. And I hope you can make it because it would be nice to meet in person.&#8221;

During the 64-year-old actor&#8217;s speech on Monday night at the 15th Tashkent International Film Festival, he discussed how he &#8220;suddenly felt his entire left arm go numb&#8221; at the museum earlier that day, the <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/10/04/kevin-spacey-rushed-to-hospital-fearing-heart-attack-reports/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=nypost" target="_blank" rel="noopener">New York Post</a> reported.
&#8220;I experienced something here today that was unexpected,&#8221; Spacey told the crowd.
&#8220;I was looking at these extraordinary murals on the walls and I suddenly felt my entire left arm go numb for about eight seconds,&#8221; he added. &#8220;I shook it off, but I immediately told the people I was with and we went immediately to the [&#8230;] medical center.&#8221;
The actor was then rushed to Innova Diagnostic Clinic. Despite his concerns that he had a heart attack, the doctors released him after finding no &#8220;problem with his heart.&#8221;
&#8220;I spent the afternoon there having a variety of tests,&#8221; the actor said. &#8220;Staff took care of me, and even put me through an MRI&#8221;.
&#8220;Everything turned out to be completely normal, and I&#8217;m of course grateful it&#8217;s not anything more serious,&#8221; he added. &#8220;It also made me really take a moment and think about how fragile life is. For all of us.&#8221;

In a courtroom on Wednesday, the 64-year-old actor reportedly wept after Justice Mark Wall told the Hollywood star that he was cleared of all charges and concluded that the &#8220;defendant may be discharged,&#8221; the <a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/kevin-spacey-uk-trial-verdict-not-guilty-1235543727/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Hollywood Reporter</a> reported.
After exiting the courtroom, Spacey spoke to the press and thanked his legal team, the jury, and the court staff.

The &#8220;House of Cards&#8221; <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/kevin-spacey-must-pay-tens-of-millions-of-dollars-to-house-of-cards-producers-after-alleged-sexual-misconduct-on-set" target="_blank" rel="noopener">star</a> originally faced 12 charges when the trial started in June, People Magazine noted. During the trial, an indecent assault charge was added. However, all four indecent assault charges were later dropped due to a &#8220;legal technicality.&#8221;
Spacey denied all allegations against him, labeling two of them consensual and another a &#8220;clumsy pass.&#8221;
&#8220;While I am disappointed with [the Crown Prosecution Service&#8217;s] decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the U.K. as soon as can be arranged and defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence,&#8221; Spacey said on <a href="https://www.goodmorningamerica.com/culture/story/kevin-spacey-voluntarily-court-sexual-assault-charges-85056782" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Good Morning America</a> when the charges were announced.
Spacey was one of the most prominent figures accused of sexual misconduct during the start of the #MeToo era.  In November 2017, he was fired from the Netflix series &#8220;House of Cards&#8221; following a string of sexual assault and misconduct allegations against him.
One such accusation came from &#8220;Star Trek: Discovery&#8221; star Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of making a sexual advance toward him at a party in 1986, when Rapp was 14. Spacey denies the allegations. Rapp brought a civil lawsuit against Spacey but lost the case in 2022 when the actor was found not liable for battery, People noted.

From his iconic roles in “The Usual Suspects” and “American Beauty” to his starring role as Frank Underwood in “House of Cards,” Kevin Spacey was loved the world over.
But in October 2017, when the #MeToo movement was in its infancy, Spacey’s world came crashing down.
Actor Anthony Rapp, known for his roles in “Rent” and “A Beautiful Mind,” accused Spacey of making inappropriate sexual advances toward him decades earlier, when Rapp was just 14-years-old. Rapp alleged that Spacey, while apparently drunk, made a sexual advance toward him back in 1986. Rapp made a similar allegation – without Spacey’s name – in a 2001 interview with The Advocate.

As with many #MeToo era allegations, others came forward with their own claims, including Harry Dreyfuss, son of famed actor Richard Dreyfuss, and Boston anchorwoman Heather Unruh, who claimed Spacey had sexually assaulted her son. In total, over 30 people made allegations against Spacey, including eight people who worked on the set of “House of Cards.”
Spacey apologized to Rapp after the allegations were made, releasing a statement that read: 
<blockquote>“I have a lot of respect and admiration for Anthony Rapp as an actor. I’m beyond horrified to hear his story. I honestly do not remember the encounter, it would have been over 30 years ago. But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior, and I am sorry for the feelings he describes having carried with him all these years.”
“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life,” Spacey continued. “I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy. As those closest to me know, in my life I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic encounters with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behavior.”</blockquote>
Spacey’s decision to come out as gay when responding to the allegations garnered criticism from other gay celebrities, including George Takei and Lance Bass. They alleged that Spacey was trying to distract from the issue by focusing on his sexuality and excusing his behavior by citing his alcohol use.
Without additional proof of Spacey having committed any of the actions of which he was accused, he was cut from “House of Cards” and a biographical film about John Paul Getty III, &#8220;All The Money In The World.&#8221; Spacey was replaced by Christopher Plummer and his scenes were reshot.
In addition to losing roles, the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences rescinded its decision to give Spacey an International Emmy Founders Award in 2017. Spacey’s publicist and talent agency soon cut ties with him.
What followed was a series of investigations and charges against the Academy Award-winning actor that have largely gone nowhere.
In April 2018, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office announced it would investigate a claim that Spacey sexually assaulted an adult man in 1992. In July 2018, Scotland Yard announced that three additional allegations of sexual assault had been made against Spacey. In the United Kingdom, this meant Spacey was facing several investigations into his behavior, largely stemming from his time as the artistic director of The Old Vic theatre in London.

In September 2018, a lawsuit was filed claiming Spacey sexually assaulted an unnamed masseuse in Malibu, California, two years earlier.
In December 2018, authorities in Nantucket, Massachusetts, charged Spacey with felony sexual assault based on the allegations by Heather Unruh, who had claimed Spacey assaulted her 18-year-old son. The son told police he had been texting his girlfriend while Spacey was allegedly groping him, but neither he nor his mother were ever able to turn over their messages, eventually saying the cell phone used was missing. In June 2019, Unruh’s son filed a lawsuit against Spacey for emotional damages, but a month later, he voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit with prejudice, meaning he could not file it again in the future.
Just two weeks after Unruh’s son dismissed the lawsuit, Massachusetts authorities dismissed the charges against Spacey.
The unnamed massage therapist who filed a lawsuit against Spacey also died during this time, so all criminal cases against Spacey were now closed, as Los Angeles hadn’t brought charges against him, nor had Scotland Yard.
In September 2020, three years after Rapp made his initial allegations, he filed a lawsuit against Spacey alleging sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress as part of the Child Victims Act. Along with Rapp, an anonymous man was also included in the lawsuit, claiming Spacey had sexually assaulted him in 1983 when he was 14-years-old. The next year, this anonymous man was dismissed from the case after he refused to publicly identify himself.
The civil trial against Spacey took place in October 2022, with a jury eventually finding that Spacey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-kevin-spacey-did-not-molest-actor-anthony-rapp-civil-jury-concludes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">did not molest Rapp</a>. As for his earlier apology, Spacey said his publicist had made him write it.

In 2020, however, before Spacey faced a civil trial over Rapp’s allegations, his production companies were ordered to pay the studio that produced “House of Cards” $31 million for violating its sexual harassment policy. Spacey appealed, but the decision was upheld on August 4, 2022.
On May 26, 2022, British authorities charged Spacey with four counts of sexual assault, with an additional seven charges brought against him on November 16, 2022. Those more recent charges relate to a single complaint regarding incidents that allegedly occurred during Spacey’s time at The Old Vic.
Earlier this month, Spacey <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/14/arts/kevin-spacey-trial-uk.html?partner=slack&amp;smid=sl-share" target="_blank" rel="noopener">told</a> media outlets that he planned to return to acting as soon as he is cleared in the British criminal court. There is no guarantee he will be found not guilty.

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> said he isn’t concerned about the future of his <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/hollywood">Hollywood</a> career despite current and past <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-assault">sexual assault</a> charges.
“I know that there are people right now who are ready to hire me the moment I am cleared of these charges in London. The second that happens, they’re ready to move forward,” the 63-year-old told <a href="https://www.presseportal.de/en/pm/9377/5533591">ZEITmagazin</a> ahead of his London trial, which begins June 28 and is expected to last four weeks.
Spacey’s legal drama began in 2017 during the height of the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/metoo">#MeToo</a> movement when “Star Trek: Discovery” star Anthony Rapp <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/breaking-kevin-spacey-did-not-molest-actor-anthony-rapp-civil-jury-concludes">claimed</a> that Spacey made a sexual advance toward him in 1986 when Rapp was 14 and Spacey was 26.
Spacey <a href="https://twitter.com/KevinSpacey/status/924848412842971136">posted</a> on Twitter that he did not remember having that experience with Rapp, but didn’t rule it out.
&#8220;But if I did behave then as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,&#8221; Spacey wrote on social media while simultaneously coming out as gay.
&#8220;This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life. I know that there are other stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy,&#8221; he wrote, saying he was planning to &#8220;live as a gay man&#8221; going forward.
The allegations spurred 15 other people to <a href="https://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2017/11/07/kevin-spacey-scandal-complete-list-13-accusers/835739001/">come forward</a> with their own stories of alleged sexual abuse from Spacey. The actor currently faces 12 sexual assault cases in the U.K. and pleaded not guilty to all of them.
“It’s a time in which a lot of people are very afraid that if they support me, they will be canceled,” Spacey told ZEITmagazin about the repercussions for his career and reputation.

Actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey">Kevin Spacey</a> made his first major public appearance in five years Monday night after being accused of multiple <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/sexual-abuse">sexual misconduct</a> incidents.
The 63-year-old <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/celebrities">actor</a> accepted a lifetime achievement award at a special honorary event organized by <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/italy">Italy</a>’s National Cinema Museum in the northern Italian city of Turin.
“My heart is very full toward the Museum of Cinema for having had the &#8216;palle&#8217; (balls) to invite me tonight,” Spacey said while addressing the gathered crowd Monday night. “By presenting this award, they are making a strong defense of artistic achievement and for that, they should be applauded.”
Next, the “American Beauty” actor thanked the friends who have stood by him amid the scandal. “I just want to say how grateful I am to my friends and my colleagues and my friends’ friends and colleagues who have flown in to be here tonight … I am moved by all of you being here,” the actor continued, per <a href="https://deadline.com/2023/01/kevin-spacey-thanks-italy-cinema-balls-ballsy-invitation-jack-lemmon-bryan-singer-amp-david-fincher-1235223813/">Deadline</a>.
After receiving the award, Spacey participated in a Q&amp;A-style masterclass focused on some of his most famous performances, including his roles in “The Usual Suspects,” “Seven,” “L.A. Confidential,” “American Beauty,” and “House Of Cards.”
The actor allegedly refused interview requests from American media leading up to the event, but he did make some statements to the Italian press. Spacey said he hasn’t been “hiding” since the first accusations against him broke in 2017.
“I live my life every day, I go to restaurants, I meet people, drive, play tennis, I’ve always managed to meet generous, genuine, compassionate people,” Spacey told Italian news outlet Ansa. “I haven’t hidden away, I haven’t gone to live in a cave,” he explained.
“What you see in the media is not real life, I’m not coming back to public life because I never left it,” Spacey continued.
Just last week, the actor pleaded not guilty to seven new charges relating to sexual assault allegations in the U.K., per <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/kevin-spacey-gears-first-public-164724698.html">Deadline</a>. He’s scheduled to appear in court in June 2023 for five previously filed sexual assault charges.
Spacey was found not liable in a $40 million lawsuit in October, which was the catalyst for many other accusers coming forward. 
The actor is next scheduled to travel to Rome for the world premiere of his new movie, “The Man Who Drew God.” This will be Spacey’s first feature film credit since the sexual misconduct accusations were filed in 2017.

A civil jury concluded Thursday that actor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kevin-spacey" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kevin Spacey</a> did not molest actor Anthony Rapp decades ago when Rapp was a teenager.

Spacey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/courtroom-confession-kevin-spacey-claims-publicist-made-him-apologize-to-alleged-victim" target="_blank" rel="noopener">maintained</a> his innocence throughout the trial and claimed in court that his publicist was the one who made him apologize to Rapp back in 2017 when Rapp made the allegations.

I regret my entire statement,” <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/news/kevin-spacey-trial-cries-anthony-rapp-apology-1235406412/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spacey said in court</a> in New York City, as his emotions got the better of him and he began to cry. “It’s my responsibility. He explained in court that at the time, he had just felt blind-sided and he “literally didn’t know how to respond.” That was when his publicist counseled him not to come out forcefully against Rapp, saying that he ran the risk of people then accusing him of blaming the victim.
Rapp accused the Academy Award-winning actor of making inappropriate sexual advances toward him in 1986 — when Rapp was just 14 years old — in a bombshell Buzzfeed article. <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/horrifying-spacey-quasi-admits-molesting-14-year-ben-shapiro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spacey</a> responded to the accusation by publicly coming out as gay, denying any memory of the incident described by Rapp.

I regret my entire statement,&#8221; <a href="https://variety.com/2022/film/news/kevin-spacey-trial-cries-anthony-rapp-apology-1235406412/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spacey said in court</a> in New York City, as his emotions got the better of him and he began to cry. &#8220;It’s my responsibility. I put it out there. It was really wrong. It was really bad and I’m deeply sorry. I have to own that.&#8221;
Rapp accused the Academy-Award-winning actor of making inappropriate sexual advances toward him in 1986 — when Rapp was just 14 years old — in a bombshell Buzzfeed article. <a href="https://dailywire.com/news/horrifying-spacey-quasi-admits-molesting-14-year-ben-shapiro/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Spacey</a> responded to the accusation by publicly coming out as gay, denying any memory of the incident described by Rapp.
&#8220;If I did behave as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,&#8221; Spacey said in a public statement — a statement that he now says was given only at the instruction of his publicist.
He explained in court that at the time, he had just felt blind-sided and he &#8220;literally didn’t know how to respond.&#8221; That was when his publicist counseled him not to come out forcefully against Rapp, saying that he ran the risk of people then accusing him of blaming the victim.
Spacey also made a number of <a href="https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/kevin-spacey-testifies-sex-abuse-trial-anthony-rapp-father-neo-nazi-203617192.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">other revelations</a> on the stand Monday, specifically about his family life early on, when his attorney asked him to explain why he had not come out as gay earlier in his career.
&#8220;My father was a white supremacist and a neo-Nazi. It meant that my siblings and I had to listen to my father lecturing us for hours and hours and hours about his beliefs and his ideas,&#8221; Spacey explained.
He went on to say that his father had been vocal about his concern that a young Spacey might be gay because of his interest in theatre — and it was clear that he did not approve.
&#8220;Everything about what was happening in that house was something I felt I had to keep to myself and keep private and never, ever talk about to anybody,&#8221; he continued, adding, &#8220;My father would scream at me, &#8216;Don&#8217;t be a —.&#8217; He would use an F-word that is very derogatory to the gay community. I won&#8217;t say it in court. As I continued in my life, I think I just — I had a degree of shame, because I wanted people to remember the characters that I played and not know too much about me.&#8221;
