After reports on Thursday indicated that the Republican health care bill seeks to strip public funding from scandal-ridden abortion mill Planned Parenthood for one year, baby-killing extraordinaires decided to enlist the help of Hollywood’s finest.
In a video, produced by feminist Lena Dunham’s Lenny Letter (of course) and NowThis, endless celebs implore us mere mortals to call our senators and tell them Planned Parenthood should continue to receive our tax dollars. Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Poehler, Lena Dunham, Jenny Slate, Kate Walsh, Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss, among others, are all featured in the video, disturbingly singing the praises of the lucrative “nonprofit” responsible for over 320,000 dead babies annually.
“We need you to contact your United States senator,” urges transgender rights activist Janet Mock.
“This is nothing more than a blatantly political attempt to do whatever it takes to attack women’s health and rights, and take health care away from the people who need it most,” the Hollywood stars say. “The right to decide our own bodily future is the most basic of all human rights.”
You would think the “most basic of all human rights” would be to live, and not, say, be ripped into pieces inside your mother’s womb. But what do I know.
Then they add a touch of fear-mongering: “If Congress cuts funding to Planned Parenthood, millions of people will be left without access to birth control, life-saving cancer screenings, and other basic care.”
The Hollywood stars even received the kiss of death, I mean approval, from Planned Parenthood: “We are so grateful to have the support of so many artists, many of whom have themselves relied on Planned Parenthood for health care, and who understand the importance of speaking out,” says a statement on Planned Parenthood’s official site.
Planned Parenthood currently receives upward of 500 million tax-payer dollars every year; they’ve aborted over 7 million babies since inception.
The Hyde Amendment, which theoretically prevents tax dollars from directly subsidizing abortion, should already be protecting the American people from funding the abortion mill. But because the company deceptively claims they do not allocate government money toward abortion (their money is fungible, so yes, they do), we are somehow still footing the bill.
