There Is Now A Spotify Playlist Supporting DACA

The wokest playlist ever now exists on Spotify: a playlist supporting the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Spotify decided to enter the DACA discussion with their “No Moment for Silence” playlist of artists including Jared Leto, Demi Lovato and Khalid along with songs that help convey the message that they stand with the so-called Dreamers that were protected from deportation under DACA, including Dreamers by K.Flay and American Teen by Khalid.

Some artists even contributed audio messages of support to the Dreamers: (H/T: Time)

“As an immigrant who came to the U.S. as a child, I know what it’s like to struggle and to never take any opportunity that came my way for granted,” [Camilia] Cabello says in her audio clip; she has previously spoken about her status as a Cuban-Mexican immigrant. “I stand with Dreamers, who have fought so hard to be recognized as the Americans they are.”

Obama announced the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program by executive order in 2012. The program currently benefits about 800,000 people who could face deportation when it is revoked in six months.

” With having lived in a border city, I have so many friends whose families could possibly lose their legal status in the country that they grew up in,” Khalid states. (He hails from El Paso, Texas.) “Please stand for the Dreamers and let them know that they are not alone, and that they have our support.”

And there’s more: (H/T: Washington Free Beacon)

“I encourage each and every one of you to support and stand for immigration,” Lovato said. “For everyone out there who is fighting for this cause, I encourage you to stay strong.”

Leto also pledged his support for the “dreamers.”

“Obviously, supporting people who are Americans and have lived in this country is important, and protecting them from losing their legal status in the country they grew up in is paramount,” Leto said. “So I ask for your support for Dreamers, and I pledge mine.”

Juanes offered his own message to immigrants, saying “destiny brought you here.”

“The U.S. is a country that belongs to you too. You’re here because destiny brought you here,” said Colombia-born Juanes. “You have to keep fighting to stay. You can count on the support of an entire community that’s here for you.”

When combining the songs with the artists’ messages, the playlist consists of a total of 56 songs.

Spotify is actively promoting the playlist:

The playlist is quintessential left-wing virtue-signaling. Spotify and the featured artists in the playlist aren’t accomplishing anything other than alienating Spotify users who don’t share their opinion on DACA.

Spotify and the artists can revel in their feelings about DACA, but that doesn’t change the fact that DACA is blatantly unconstitutional. Nor does it change the fact that illegal immigration is a serious drain on the welfare state. It also doesn’t change the fact that illegal immigration exacerbates crime, programs like DACA provide gangs with a recruiting tool and illegal immigration undermines the rule of law and America’s sovereignty.

Instead, to quote Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review, virtue-signaling on DACA provides the likes of Spotify with “a false sense of moral superiority.” Stay woke, Spotify.
