Pope: Migrants’ Rights More Important Than National Security

   DailyWire.com

Pope Francis prioritized migrants’ welfare over national and continental security considerations in a Monday statement, according to the Associated Press (AP).

“Migrants’ dignity and right to protection trumps national security concerns,” is how the AP framed the Pope’s message.

A moral imperative “obliges us to always prioritize personal safety over national security, said Francis, framing his call as aligned with Jesus’ values and message.

Europe and other states should simplify and streamline refugee admissions policies in order to increase the total volume of refugees admitted, said Francis. Such foreigners, he added, should have access to accelerated securing of citizenship across Europe and the Western world.

Francis’ Monday message also called for border guards to be trained in assisting migrants.

Such messaging is not new for Francis, who has previously called for the building of “bridges not walls,” seemingly a rebuke of President Donald Trump’s repeated calls for the construction of a wall along the southern border.

Across his papal tenure, Francis has repeatedly pushed left-wing causes, including but not limited to: framing free markets as immoral and exploitative, hyping “climate change” as an existential planetary threat driven by humanity’s consumption of carbon-based fuels, and casting “racism” as a widespread social phenomenon across the West.
