The intolerance on the left demonstrated throughout the 2016 presidential election and soon following November 8 has been quite impressive, even by insanely high leftist standards. Triggered by the shocking win of President-elect Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton supporters spiraled into an uncontrollable fit of rage: violent “protests” broke out in big cities; Ivanka Trump was harassed on an airplane while traveling with her three young children; liberal has-beens called for disruptions on Inauguration Day; college Trump voters were shamed by their professors, and the list goes on.
On Sunday, another liberal highlighted the fascistic nature of the left: Dallas resident Henry S. Rosen, writing in the Daily Kos, explained that he canceled his annual post-holiday party because he feared Trump voters, whom he’s banned from his house, might attend.
This, of course, was the only rational solution.
Rosen cannot seriously be expected to open his safe-space Dallas home to now-former friends who voted differently than he did. That would be insane…
“My wife Alice and I are not having our after-the-holidays party this year,” wrote Rosen. “It’s a 20+ year tradition; a welcome respite for our friends following Christmas and Hanukah…This year, however, I told my Alice that Trump voters were not welcome in my home. Living in Dallas, Texas, and given the conservative bent of our friends, that meant no party.”
Trump voters do not meet his “decency” standard, Rosen explained.
But the pretensiousness runs deep with this one, so he took his anti-Trump crusade even further: “I told my tennis group, whom I had known for years, I would no longer be playing with them, since most were Trump supporters,” he said, explaining to them that he “could not socialize with people who lacked a moral compass.”
Again, good move by Rosen. God forbid he come into any sort of contact with dissenters. What if their deplorable ickiness rubs off on him? Or he accidently hears a differing opinion?
After noting that Hillary “won the popular vote by almost 3 million,” a fact about as relevant as what I ate for dinner last night–chicken, by the way–Rosen explained that there was a brief moment that he thought he could survive a President Trump, after all, he “survived Reagan.”
But that was before Rosen allegedly heard two accounts of anecdotal evidence of children being called names at school. And I know what you’re thinking, don’t leftists make up hate-crime hoaxes all the time to perpetuate their narrative about Trump supporters being horrific, racist, sexist people? Well, yes. But I’m sure that’s definitely not the case with Rosen, a man so intolerant he can’t even breathe the same air as someone with a differing thought.
“These incidents washed over me like a plague,” said Rosen. “I realized this was not a normal election, with one political philosophy prevailing over another. This was a repudiation of the value system – and Constitution – on which the United States is based. This was a green light to racism and demagoguery which apparently festers even in people of privilege. This was an overt turning of the cheek to freedom of the press, to truth, decency and respect. The bigotry that my friends’ children experienced were not isolated incidents. Intimidation, threats and hatred – directed at minorities, immigrants, etc. – have come fast and furious since November 8th.”
The leftist continued, labeling all Trump voters enemies: “Every person who voted for Trump is complicit,” he said. “Some, like Hillary’s deplorables, are incorrigible. Others, like our comfortable friends, chose their own pocketbooks, or their understandable distaste of Hillary Clinton, over doing what was right.”
And in utterly shocking fashion, Rosen compared Trump to … Hitler. Yes, like, literally Hitler.
“Any student of history can compare current times to the rise of fascism in the 1930’s – when an electorate reeling from The Great Depression brought to power Hitler and emboldened Mussolini,” he stated. “The formula was eerily familiar: blame others for your own failures and turn power over to a man who pledges to restore the country to its prior greatness.”
Rosen closed by dramatically and proudly declaring his intolerance: “This is not a joke. This is not tolerable. This is not American. The people who enabled it by voting for this ignorant and dangerous buffoon are not welcome in my home.”
This goes without saying, but Rosen can bar anyone whom his little heart desires from his home. It’s his home. And if he wants to quit tennis like a petulant little child because a dirty Trump voter might accidently brush by him, he can do that, too. But that doesn’t make it any less ridiculous, and not to mention completely antithetical to the “tolerance” leftists claim to posses and love to preach to conservatives.
