FAKE NEWS: MSNBC’s Joy Reid Spreads Debunked Talking Point Over Russian Election Interference

   DailyWire.com

MSNBC’s Joy Reid continued her pattern of spreading fake news on Saturday by falsely claiming that 17 U.S. intelligence agencies claimed that Russia interfered in the 2016 elections.

Reid, who has a tenuous relationship with reporting the truth, attacked President Donald Trump’s comments over the weekend that he stands with the U.S. intelligence agencies and their assessment of alleged Russian interference.

Reid’s claim that 17 U.S. intelligence agencies agreed that Russia interfered in the 2016 election was debunked in July.

“Rather, the assessment involved information collected by the FBI, CIA and NSA, and was then published by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, which represents all the intelligence agencies,” the WFB reported at the time.

Other recent fake news, misinformation, and lies Joy Reid has spread include:

  • Reid claimed that Twitter users saw “more information from Russian outlets, Wikileaks, and fake news sites, than from actual news outlets, and that tweeters in swing states saw more misinformation than those in uncontested states.” The Daily Caller reported, “Those claims are not supported by facts. The ‘fake news’ line rests on a study from Oxford that didn’t even use the term ‘fake news,’ but rather ‘junk news.'”
  • Reid tweeted blatantly false information claiming that the Trump dossier was commissioned by Republicans — which is a flat-out lie. The Washington Free Beacon hired Fusion GPS to collect research on Republican candidates and later decided to stop using the “research” firm. The dossier was not compiled until after the Democrats and Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign began funding it.
  • Reid spread unverified internet rumors in August claiming that President Trump hired minority actors for his political rally in Phoenix.
  • In June, Reid lied about the Georgia special election claiming that President Trump won Georgia’s sixth district by 20 points when, in reality, he won it by only one point.
