The showrunner for the hit TV show “The Exorcist” has a delightful Christmas message for Christians offended by an episode featuring an ex-priest in a gay kiss: ‘F**k you!’
Speaking to Sci-Fi Bulletin, showrunner Jeremy Slater rejected the notion that his show suffered backlash after showing an ex-communicated priest (Ben Daniels) share a passionate gay kiss with another man. His response to those who criticized it is typical of those in his position: write them off as “homophobes.”
“I don’t think there was that much of a backlash,” he said. “I saw a couple of homophobes on Twitter and my response is, ’Good, f*** you. I’m glad you didn’t like it, I’m glad it ruined the show for you.”
Then he cruelly denigrated their humanity: “You shouldn’t have good things in your life.”
That essentially means that showrunner Jeremy Slater wishes only bad things in the lives of those governed by biblical morality.
“If a homophobe can’t watch the show anymore because one of the characters is gay, then I’m glad something good has come out of it,” Slater added. “This is 2017 and we still have people throwing temper tantrums online because they don’t want to see gay characters. I think it’s the last gasp of a certain breed of dinosaur that’s on the way out, and let them kick and scream as they go.”
After just one season, “The Exorcist” has already proven itself big on heresy and weak on faith. Not only has the show featured a pro-homosexual agenda, it also featured a consecrated priest in an affair with a married woman (because that’s edgy, right?) and has shown nuns performing exorcisms while promoting the bizarre (and wholly heretical) notion that demons can somehow be forgiven of rebelling against God.
