Man in Drag Caught in Macy's Women’s Restroom Secretly Taping Women
On Tuesday, charges were filed against Jason Pomare, 33, for allegedly disguising himself as a woman, sneaking in to the women’s restroom at a Macy’s department store and secretly videotaping hours of footage of women in bathroom stalls.
Pomare reportedly disguised himself with a wig and fake breasts; he kept his video camera with him in a small purse.
Costumers from the Macy’s in Antelope Valley Mall in Los Angeles notified security officers when they suspected a man was in the women’s restroom. A deputy on patrol found Pomare, fitting the given description, and he was arrested on Saturday.
"The deputy noticed he was wearing a wig and appeared to have breasts," said Los Angeles County Sheriff Brian Hudson.
Pomare "was charged Tuesday with six counts of unlawful use of a concealed camera for purposes of sexual gratification. After his arrest, investigators said a video camera found in his purse had 'hours' of video of women using the restroom inside the store," reports NBC4 News.
The suspect pointed the concealed camera under restroom stalls, but one woman recognized the camera's red recording light and contacted security officers, investigators said. Pomare told detectives he had been in the restroom for about two hours, said Hudson.
Rightfully so, customers from the Los Angeles department store were appalled by the report.
"He should get his but kicked," said one man bluntly, adding, "He should be charged... I have kids, and I take that very seriously."
A female customer said that Pomare "deserves everything he gets. And then some."
NBC4 News reports that there is a baby's changing table in the restroom at the Macy's. If there turns out to be footage capturing images of any babies, Pomare will obviously face additional severe charges.
