When University of California Berkeley finally released the tickets for Ben Shapiro's Sep. 14 "Say No To Campus Thuggery" event last week, they sold out in 45 minutes. However, for those who were unable to obtain one, event sponsor Young America's Foundation has just announced how to get standby tickets.
Here's YAF's announcement:
UPDATE ON TICKETS FOR BEN SHAPIRO’S LECTURE AT UC BERKELEY
If you were unable to reserve a ticket to hear Ben Shapiro’s speech, hosted by the Berkeley College Republicans and sponsored by Young America’s Foundation, a standby ticketing protocol has been established to allow those without a ticket to fill in seats left empty by no-shows.
For those who reserved a ticket online, you must pick up your tickets at a time prior to 6:30pm on Thursday, September 14. Any tickets that are unclaimed at 6:30pm will be forfeited by those who reserved them.
For those who were unable to secure a ticket before they sold out, a standby line will be forming at the Memorial Stadium Box Office on UC Berkeley’s campus, starting at 5:00pm. Starting at 6:30, unclaimed or forfeited tickets will be distributed to those in the standby line.
WHEN: September 14 at 7 p.m. PT
WHERE: Zellerbach Hall, UC Berkeley
TICKETS: SOLD OUT
As The Daily Wire has chronicled, the saga of Berkeley's attempts to first back out of and then sequester Shapiro's speech has largely followed the script conservatives have come to expect these days for campus events. After finally coming to terms with the reality that the event was going to take place, Berkeley's provost sent out a remarkable campus-wide memo detailing the extreme measures the university was taking in expectation of violence from social justice and Antifa "protesters." The school is also providing safe spaces and counseling for any faculty, staff or students traumatized by the presence of a person openly espousing mainstream conservative views on campus.
