There isn&#8217;t a breeze in sight. The air is stuffy, muggy, thick enough to chew. Lady Liberty still looks beautiful with the sun on her copper facade, and I won&#8217;t complain about a sunny day, no matter how hot it gets. But today there&#8217;s something heavier than the humidity hanging over the city. For some New Yorkers, there&#8217;s a looming, crushing sense of guilt, stickier than the air itself.
Because they haven&#8217;t turned their AC up to 78 degrees.
Why would anyone willingly suffer through a muggy apartment when they could enjoy the start of Fourth of July weekend in a crisp 68-degree living room? Because the socialist, terror-sympathizing, former-failed-rapper mayor of New York City told them not to. For the good of the very warm collective.
&#8220;Set your AC to 78 degrees,&#8221; he <a href="https://x.com/NYCMayor/status/2072411003170472359">says</a>. Because &#8220;a stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved,&#8221; he says. Translation: sweat now, comrade, so YOU [insert Sophia Cunningham pointing meme] don’t overheat the cooling system and kill grandma.
That&#8217;s eerily reminiscent of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mocking-france-makes-america-cooler">French health officials last week</a>, instructing the elderly and sick to essentially stick their heads in ice buckets and sip cold soup rather than run an air conditioner. I made fun of France for sounding like the third world. I didn&#8217;t expect the third world to make it to New York City this fast.
It&#8217;s the same degrowth logic wearing a different accent. Paris told its sick and elderly to suffer through the heat for the sake of the planet. Mamdani is telling everyone else to suffer through it for the sake of the grid. Different continent, same underlying belief: your comfort is negotiable, and someone else always gets to decide the terms. Today it&#8217;s your thermostat. Tomorrow it&#8217;s your grocery cart, your car, your lightbulbs. The mask doesn&#8217;t come off all at once. It slips one degree at a time.
Last week,<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-lasted-nine-days-without-ac-europeans-dont-have-a-choice"> I went nine days without AC</a>. It hovered between 78 and 80 degrees, and it was unbearable. Now the mayor of a city of eight million residents is scolding those same residents into voluntary suffering and harm, fresh off a campaign that promised prosperity, rainbows, and abundance for all. Nothing to see here, folks. Just a full-fledged Islamic socialist chipping away at the freedoms and comforts we hold dear, one thermostat at a time.
Utopia was supposed to be air-conditioned.
Mamdani blames the power grid, apparently so fragile that if all eight million New Yorkers don&#8217;t sweat through their Alo yoga pants and Wall Street suits in togethership, the whole system goes dark.
And what made the grid so fragile in the first place? Horrendous Democrat energy policy, three decades in the making. New York banned hydraulic fracking despite sitting on massive Marcellus Shale reserves, in the name of eliminating gas use. It didn&#8217;t eliminate anything. It just made the state import the energy it refuses to drill for itself. Environmentalists celebrated the closure of <a href="https://x.com/isabelleboemeke/status/2072662692721312036/photo/1">Indian Point</a>, a nuclear plant that once supplied roughly 25% of New York City&#8217;s electricity. The grid never recovered. Then came the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, mandating 70% renewable energy by 2030 and leaning on unreliable sources like solar and wind. Less efficient. More expensive. Exactly the recipe for a grid that buckles the moment July shows up.
Naturally, the socialist mayor isn&#8217;t offering practical fixes like drilling, fracking, coal, or nuclear power. That would be radical. Instead, he&#8217;s threatening you with thermostat mandates and <a href="https://x.com/NYCMayor/status/2072733749263901182">doubling down</a> even when his proletariat complains.
A commenter <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DaTUv2wJ5Ur/?hl=en">on my recent video mocking Mamdani </a>for this wisecracked that Texas has also asked residents to set their AC to 78 during extreme heat waves. Sure. But Texas asks because it regularly hits triple-digit heat that sends demand through the roof, even with a grid that actually builds power plants and lets markets work. Mamdani is asking because years of green policy, championed by his side, shuttered reliable nuclear capacity and choked off gas, leaving the grid with paper-thin margins. Now ordinary New Yorkers get to roast while the system he inherited, and never intends to fix, tries to catch up.
Mamdani handed us this layup himself the moment he <a href="https://x.com/JoshWalkos/status/2006914140636590553">swore</a> to strip away your individuality in exchange for warm, collective security. That cozy collectivism now looks like a forced, hellish scarcity. The cozy collectivism he promised now looks a lot like forced, hellish scarcity. That&#8217;s the trick with socialism. It&#8217;s always sold as a group hug and delivered as a group sweat.
You can&#8217;t say every wise soul in history didn&#8217;t warn you.

That quote could be on a welcome mat outside Mamdani&#8217;s front door. A door I&#8217;d bet good money leads to a home that isn&#8217;t sitting at 78 degrees.

It&#8217;s like discovering a spider on a log, lifting it up, and finding hundreds of insects swarming underneath, then realizing the log itself is hollowed out, structurally compromised, and has been for years. That&#8217;s the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/understanding-the-masterminds-behind-the-communist-revolution?row=0&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;rowType=Web+Search+Overlay">Democratic Socialists of America</a>. They&#8217;ve been there the whole time, chewing through the party&#8217;s foundation in the dark, but the infestation is worse than anyone thought, and it just molted into something with a lot more legs.
Zohran Mamdani may have been the socialist spider, but his colony is vast, well-funded, and breeding faster than anyone can stomp it out. On Tuesday, Ethiopia-born socialist Melat Kiros <a href="https://x.com/EricLDaugh/status/2072272873293500703?s=20">unseated</a> 15-term progressive incumbent Rep. Diana DeGette in Colorado, and she didn&#8217;t just win, she devoured a woman who has held that Denver seat since before Kiros was born.
Somehow, Kiros made poor DeGette, a career leftist who spent 30 years voting for Medicare for All and campaigning to abolish ICE, look like a DeRepublican, which tells you how far the infestation has spread.
This radical, as they all seemingly are, comes with a rap sheet. Kiros <a href="https://x.com/greg_price11/status/2072134420673261706?s=20">told</a> a Denver news anchor she believes 9/11 was the &#8220;inevitable consequence&#8221; of American foreign policy, the same framework she used when describing Hamas&#8217;s October 7 massacre as an &#8220;inevitable consequence of apartheid.&#8221; When directly asked whether the September 11 attacks were inevitable, she said yes. Her own primary opponent, DeGette, of all people, was so appalled she released a statement calling it out: &#8220;9/11 wasn&#8217;t inevitable, it was an act of terror that killed thousands of Americans.&#8221; When it takes Diana DeGette to be the voice of reason on domestic terrorism, the colony has officially eaten its way past the point of return.
Kiros also repeatedly <a href="https://x.com/nypost/status/2072337803317293322?s=20">declined to call</a> the 2025 Boulder firebombing, an attack that targeted Jewish demonstrators rallying for hostages that left one woman dead, an act of antisemitism. Even three of her own progressive pals publicly broke with her over it. She wants to abolish ICE, grant full citizenship to every illegal immigrant, and says one of her top priorities is ending the &#8220;genocide&#8221; in Palestine.
Luckily for her, it never started!
But her entire platform is rooted in a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/osama-won?row=0&amp;elementPosition=4&amp;rowType=Web+Search">hatred</a> towards America and the West. She&#8217;s headed to Congress to join a growing swarm of DSA-backed freshmen, all interchangeable, all promising to <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DaKuiRGOm3o/?hl=en">trade your freedoms</a> for a security blanket they have no intention of actually providing.
In scarier news, Hasan Piker, a wannabe Vladimir Lenin who’s commie-coupled up with Socialist Mayor Mamdani, just raised $54,000 for Francesca Hong, the DSA candidate running for Wisconsin governor. Hong was born to non-citizen parents on student visas. To no one&#8217;s surprise, her platform reads like something laid by the same queen: repeal Act 10 (it eliminated fair-share agreements for general municipal employees), universal childcare, free school meals, abolish ICE, an AI data center moratorium, government-run grocery stores, and, naturally, &#8220;free Palestine.&#8221;
Perfect.
In her sit-down with the <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-pied-piker-is-leading-all-the-anti-american-vermin">Pied Piker,</a> which now functions as a mandatory confirmation hearing for every DSA candidate in America, Hong declared that her &#8220;grassroots community&#8221; will overthrow the &#8220;establishment Dems&#8221; and restore socialism to Wisconsin, the place where, she claimed, it was &#8220;born.&#8221;
Weird. I was under the impression socialism was born in 19th-century Europe and has since been field-tested in the Soviet Union, Maoist China, and Venezuela, where it reliably ended in famine, mass graves, or a country reduced to bartering for toilet paper. The Holodomor alone starved an estimated 3.9 million Ukrainians. But sure, maybe the cheese state is where the infestation finally learns to behave.
Genius.
The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/understanding-the-masterminds-behind-the-communist-revolution?row=0&amp;elementPosition=3&amp;rowType=Web+Search+Overlay">DSA playbook</a> is simple and entomologically precise: identify campus larvae, incubate them in street organizing, let them pupate into MSNOW candidates, release them in the bluest districts available, and feed off the Democratic Party&#8217;s host body until they&#8217;re strong enough to consume it whole. Bonus points if your parents fled to America for opportunity, and you&#8217;ve repaid that opportunity by gnawing at the foundation that housed you.
As our editor emeritus would <a href="https://x.com/benshapiro/status/1865031099388432773">say</a>, they’re the “leeches on the ass of society.”
DeGette spent three decades building progressive credentials, and it still wasn&#8217;t enough. She got primaried from her left by a terror sympathizer. If that’s the new bar, the Democratic Party isn’t dealing with a pest problem anymore. Their house is rotted to the core, and it would appear that no one feels compelled to call the exterminator.
Man, it sure would be lovely to have a strong judicial backing against <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DaQlldYh0cE/?hl=en">birthright citizenship</a> right about now.

Another 1,400 on Friday.</a> For context, the country&#8217;s normal daily death toll runs around 900. The body count is climbing so fast that Paris’s <a href="https://nypost.com/2026/06/29/world-news/europes-record-heat-has-overwhelmed-paris-mortuaries-and-left-families-in-distress/">mortuaries</a> are turning away the dead because they’re full.
And what’s to blame for this sudden mort spike? A lack of air conditioning. Because, apparently, keeping your home below 90 degrees is a vice.
While acknowledging that this is a horrible situation — elderly French citizens kicking the bucket too soon because their government seemingly cares more about virtue-signaling on climate than keeping them alive — Americans can still make light of it all. It&#8217;s what we do.
Thousands of journalists, influencers, and hysterical posters have taken to social media to mock European governments for their abysmal handling of la canicule plaguing the land across the pond.
Americans have every right to do this because those deaths were entirely preventable. It just so happens that in the 20th century, some of the brightest human minds discovered a way to not die from heat. Europe is still, inexplicably, opting out.
In France, only one in four homes has air conditioning, and that&#8217;s been true through a parade of &#8220;once in a generation&#8221; heat waves: <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/free-expression/extremism-in-the-defense-of-air-conditioning-is-no-vice-b74489b3">2025, 2003, 1993, 1911, 1865,</a> and onward. In the old days, presumably, they just blamed Mother Nature for going through menopause.
<a href="https://archive.ph/Szz5O#selection-3521.0-3521.273">Today, however, Parisians are blaming, wait for it, America.</a>
<a href="https://x.com/nypost/status/2071682128476000262">Paris&#8217;s Deputy Mayor Audrey Pulvar</a> took to Instagram this week to angrily declare that the U.S. bears a &#8220;significant amount of responsibility&#8221; for grandmère dying of a heat-induced stroke.
She says it’s just “rich” that we would dare mock the French, because it&#8217;s America&#8217;s use of air conditioning that contributed to their summer oven.
Well, chérie, I hate to be the one to tell you this, but there is this country called China… and even if the United States zeroed out its entire 11-ish percent share of global emissions tomorrow, shuttered every factory, blacked out every city, it would do roughly nothing to the planet&#8217;s thermostat. It would, however, gut American manufacturing, torch the energy sector, and raise the cost of literally everything for actual American families. Meanwhile, the CCP, which accounts for north of 30 percent of global CO2 emissions on its own, would keep chugging along, industrializing, polluting, and burning coal like there’s no tomorrow.
If every American simply flipped off their AC tomorrow in penance, thousands more of us would die of heat every year, our summers would get considerably more pungent, and the planet would not notice. Residential cooling is something like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/i-lasted-nine-days-without-ac-europeans-dont-have-a-choice?author=Chloe+Trapanotto&amp;category=News&amp;elementPosition=1&amp;row=0&amp;rowType=Vertical+List&amp;title=I+Lasted+Nine+Days+Without+AC.+Europeans+Don%E2%80%99t+Have+A+Choice.">3%</a> of total U.S. emissions. China alone outpaces our entire economy&#8217;s output by more than double. So if you&#8217;re looking for the country actually moving the needle on global temperature, Madame Pulvar, you&#8217;re pointing your finger at the wrong continent.
Meanwhile, back home, France isn&#8217;t just under-equipped for the heat — it&#8217;s <a href="https://www.connexionfrance.com/practical/what-are-the-rules-on-fitting-air-conditioning-in-french-homes/666489">actively legislated against fixing it.</a> Because of strict rules on exterior units, historic-preservation restrictions in cities like Paris that make installing AC a bureaucratic nightmare, and a cultural campaign treating air conditioning as an indulgence have left people with one real option: public fountains. Videos of <a href="https://x.com/tirajnews/status/2071700235051565147/video/1">Parisians</a> <a href="https://nypost.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/06/man-cools-off-warsaw-fountain-132113565.jpg?resize=683,1024&amp;quality=75&amp;strip=all">wading</a> into them fully clothed have been circulating all week, which is delightful content and a genuinely bleak admission that &#8220;go stand in the Trocadéro&#8221; is the national heat plan.
So no, Madame Pulvar, we will not be powering down. We&#8217;ll keep feeling that glorious blast of cold air on a 100-degree day, and we&#8217;ll keep mocking a government that would rather let its elderly undergo a sweatocide than admit a window unit might have saved them.
Of course, <a href="https://www.climatebonds.net/news-events/blog/frances-green-budget-2026-good-start">Paris could fix this tomorrow.</a> Outfitting every household in France with a basic in-window AC unit would cost an estimated 4 billion dollars, which is nothing compared to the 41 billion euros France has earmarked for “green” spending in 2026 alone, or against the country&#8217;s actual climate adaptation fund, the one built specifically to help France survive disasters like this exact heat wave, which just got <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DaLrzSZGT0i/">slashed from 1.5 billion euros to 837</a> million in this year&#8217;s budget.
They have the money. They are just choosing not to spend it on the living.
It&#8217;s hard not to suspect the French government doesn&#8217;t actually want this problem solved. Dead pensioners stop drawing on the state&#8217;s beloved socialized medicine, and a rising body count is a far more useful prop for &#8220;global warming is happening&#8221; than a budget line about window units would ever be. Mais peut-être que je me trompe.
I love you, Paris. I really do. But you are making yourself very hard to defend lately. Strip away the gorgeous men, the breathtaking architecture, and sassy disdain for tourists, and what&#8217;s left is a government that would rather let its people cook than turn on the AC.
Maybe try the window unit. Until then, the mocking continues.

On this day, 250 years ago, Thomas <a href="https://x.com/OldeWorldOrder/status/2071021131373429235">Paine</a> publicly argued for adopting &#8220;United States of America&#8221; as the formal name of the new nation, just days before the Declaration of Independence was adopted. The name stuck because it described exactly what we were building: a nation of united, sovereign states, not a collection of squabbling colonies.
And on this day, June 29, 2026, Democrats are flipping their flags upside down, banning the Bible from schools, and refusing to celebrate our 250th anniversary. They&#8217;re not just apathetic about this country; they&#8217;re actively allergic to it.
Gosh, they ruin everything good.
Though Republican pride in the country remains strong — 70% of Republican voters say they&#8217;re &#8220;extremely proud&#8221; to be an American — Democrats are at an embarrassing 14%. If you&#8217;re not proud of the nation that invented modern liberty, defeated fascism and communism, put a man on the moon, and gave the world the technologies that define the 21st century, then what exactly are you proud of?
I, for one, identify as an American thoroughbred. I bleed red, white, and blue. I think Uncle Sam is my actual uncle. I get giddy reading about the Founding Fathers and the impossible odds they overcame to secure the freedoms we now treat like background noise. Sure, I&#8217;m proud of my Italian heritage and my olive skin, and Sicily is a fantastic vacation spot, but all of that will always come second to my Americanism. 
 
And for those of you who don&#8217;t feel this way and have allegiances to other countries, may I ask why the hell you&#8217;re still here?
We have a mountain with four presidents&#8217; faces carved into it — Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt — because they&#8217;re the men who brought us independence, individual liberty, global strength, and the abolition of slavery. We sent reusable rockets into space while other nations were still figuring out how to keep the lights on. We put a man on the moon before most people had calculators. We invented the airplane, the internet, and the smartphone, and turned the very landscape of every Taylor Sheridan series into the most powerful, prosperous, and free society in human history. Also, we have lots of air conditioning.
This is not a normal country. It&#8217;s an extraordinary one. Where people don’t just “make it,” they change the world.
And despite this, despite ubiquitous Ozempic, despite Amazon Prime and ranch dressing, the Left still isn’t having fun. But they aren’t just unhappy. They&#8217;ve built an entire identity out of grievance, and a country worth celebrating is a direct threat to that identity. If America is good, their whole worldview collapses. So it can&#8217;t be good. It has to be irredeemably racist, colonialist, and oppressive. Because the alternative is admitting they&#8217;ve spent decades being wrong about everything.
That&#8217;s why they ban the Bible from schools, sneer at the flag, and sit out the 250th anniversary of the greatest political experiment in human history. It&#8217;s not intellectual. It&#8217;s a mental illness. Misery needs company, and America&#8217;s success is the loneliest thing in the world for someone who needs it to fail.
Take the Bible. Liberals are furious that the Texas State Board of Education voted to make Bible passages required in public schools. I’m furious that it wasn’t already.
The Bible is in our national DNA. It helped write the code. George Washington prayed that citizens would imitate &#8220;the Divine Author of our blessed Religion.&#8221; John Adams said plainly that the Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people, and called the Bible the best book in the world. Thomas Jefferson created his own edited version of the Gospels. And our first Chief Justice, John Jay, said it was the duty of a Christian nation to prefer Christian leaders. These views weren’t fringe; they were the whole operation. Attacking the Bible isn’t brave countercultural resistance; it’s sawing off the branch you’re sitting on.
But here&#8217;s the thing about 250 years: we&#8217;ve survived worse than these woke woeful warriors. We&#8217;ve survived actual existential threats, and we came out stronger every time. The question is whether this generation will do its part.
It&#8217;s not too late for normal Democrats and independents who still love this country. Stop following activists who treat America like an original sin. Ask yourself what kind of nation you want your children to inherit. Be proud of the past, protective of the present, and hopeful for the future. Fly the flag right-side up. Teach your kids and your friends the real story of this country. Fire up the grill this Fourth and celebrate the 250th anniversary like it means something — because it means everything.
This nation is worth defending. It&#8217;s worth keeping alive for another 250 years. And it&#8217;s worth being proud of.

I&#8217;m on day nine of no air conditioning in my Washington, D.C. apartment. The building decided to upgrade the HVAC systems in the dead of June. In one of the swampiest cities in America.
I feel like a European.
And I hate it.
The silver lining (if you can call slow-roasting inside your own home a silver lining) is that I now have some sympathy for the people forced to endure this reality year in and year out. Not because of broken buildings or bad timing, but because their governments decided that sweating to death is a form of environmental virtue.
They are wrong. Catastrophically and lethally wrong.
Europe&#8217;s anti-AC policies are doing almost nothing to stop climate change. They are, however, killing people. According to the <a href="https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/climate-change-heat-and-health">WHO</a>, Europe averages more than 175,000 heat-related deaths every single year. In 2024 alone, a peer-reviewed study <a href="https://www.isglobal.org/en/-/62.700-muertes-asociadas-con-el-calor-del-verano-de-2024">published</a> in Nature Medicine put the summer death toll at nearly 63,000, compared to roughly <a href="https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2822854">2,400</a> in the United States that same year.
So Europe, with a population just 40% larger than ours, is losing tens of thousands of people to heat every summer, while we lose thousands. The difference isn&#8217;t climate, it’s ideology. The EU&#8217;s Green Deal and its accompanying &#8220;degrowth&#8221; ideology — the belief that every kilowatt of energy consumed is a sin against the planet — have spent decades actively discouraging AC installation, mandating carbon-neutral buildings, and pushing &#8220;passive cooling solutions&#8221; like fans and open windows. The result is not a greener planet, but a deadlier one.
The European heat death toll is <a href="https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2026/04/28/what-the-data-says-about-gun-deaths-in-the-us/">twelve times</a> America&#8217;s gun homicide rate. Liberals will go on and on about &#8220;genocides&#8221; in their favorite third-world countries, yet never say a peep about the grim-heater knocking on thousands of their neighbors&#8217; doors every single summer. No marches. No hashtags. No candlelight vigils.
Just grandma dying because a bureaucrat decided a thermostat was too carbon-heavy.
And right now, it&#8217;s happening again. France is currently in the grip of a historic June heatwave. Fifty-four of its 96 departments are under red alert as of this week. Schools are closed, trains are canceled – the whole catastrophe is being compared to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_European_heatwave">2003 heat wave</a> that killed an estimated 15,000 people. Already, 40 people have drowned in rivers and lakes, jumping in to escape the heat. Only about <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/12/world/europe/heat-waves-france-air-conditioning.html">20%</a> of French homes have air conditioning.

They might as well hand out paper-free pamphlets on how to write a will and what to wear at your own funeral.
Dying because European governments won&#8217;t permit a box that sucks heat out of your living room. Welcome to the third world, Europe.
The climate scolds&#8217; math doesn&#8217;t even work. Cooling accounts for roughly <a href="https://ourworldindata.org/air-conditioning-causes-around-greenhouse-gas-emissions-will-change-future">3%</a> of global greenhouse gas emissions. If every European turned on an air conditioner tomorrow, models project it might add <a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-026-69393-1">0.05</a> degrees Celsius to global temperatures by 2050. That&#8217;s not saving the planet. That&#8217;s a rounding error.
Meanwhile, the bodies keep piling up from actual heat exhaustion. Studies show proper air conditioning slashes the risk of dying on brutally hot days by <a href="https://ourworldindata.org/how-can-the-world-reduce-deaths-from-extreme-heat">75%</a>. The U.S. figured this out decades ago and now has near-universal AC with a tiny fraction of Europe’s heat-death toll despite plenty of nasty summers.
In fact, cold-related deaths across the globe still <a href="https://ourworldindata.org/part-one-how-many-people-die-from-extreme-temperatures-and-how-could-this-change-in-the-future">substantially</a> outnumber heat-related deaths. Over time, moderate warming could actually reduce net temperature-attributable mortality in many regions by cutting cold deaths faster than it raises heat deaths. So the entire premise that keeping Europeans sweltering indoors is some heroic act of planetary sacrifice falls apart on its own terms. They&#8217;re not preventing deaths. They&#8217;re just redistributing them.
Get Europe some air conditioning. Cut the heat deaths. And maybe even reduce cold deaths down the road. Bingo.
Because grand-mère isn&#8217;t dying from climate change. She&#8217;s dying because some bureaucrat in Paris decided sweltering until she’s six feet under was virtuous.
And I&#8217;m dying because my building decided June was a great time to upgrade the HVAC.

It&#8217;s the socialists destroying the Democrats. And the organization leading the charge isn&#8217;t marching under a red flag; it&#8217;s marching under a donkey.
Meet the Democratic Socialists of America.
Their mission is to hollow out a country they are convinced is the root of all genocide, poverty, and malfeasance in the world, and replace it with <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/osama-won">third-worldist</a>, communist radicalism that leaves the United States in permanent ignominy.
Brutal, right?
To prevent that very bleak reality, we need to understand what the DSA is — and why it is the antithesis of America.
The <a href="https://www.dsausa.org/">DSA</a> is the largest explicitly socialist organization in the United States, with over 100,000 members and chapters across nearly all 50 states. They use young people, TikTok, and apathetic voters to propel obscure candidates to victory and make themselves look more mainstream than they are. They&#8217;re a radical, multi-tendency activist organization that runs carefully recruited candidates exclusively as Democrats, while simultaneously pushing campus radicalism, street organizing, and a platform of &#8220;democratic socialism.&#8221;
Which is a fancy new way of saying communism.
They want to replace capitalism with top-down government control over private property, housing, healthcare, energy, and more. <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/DZ_cT_fSRc8/">Democrat policies aren&#8217;t radical enough for them</a>. The Democratic Party is simply the vehicle they&#8217;re using to Trojan Horse their revolution through.
We know this because their leaders are saying it openly.
NYC DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo recently <a href="https://x.com/NotTheirScript/status/2069913469009178762/video/1">boasted</a> that the group needs to &#8220;turn DSA into a factory,&#8221; and <a href="https://x.com/canarymission/status/2069522159311953929">admitted</a> their alliance with the Democratic Party is more for a ballot-access vehicle — not because they share its goals. Most of them, in fact, <a href="https://x.com/RNCResearch/status/2062561744766066794/video/1">detest the Democratic Party</a>. They compete in Democratic primaries, make their liberal opponents look like MAGA Cavemen by comparison, get elected with a &#8220;D&#8221; next to their name, and then treat the Democratic establishment as an obstacle to be discarded. Never a home. Always a beachhead.
It&#8217;s the classic &#8220;entryism&#8221; — or &#8220;dirty break&#8221; — strategy: infiltrate the larger party, use its infrastructure and ballot access to grow, then fracture from within. They aren&#8217;t hiding it.
It&#8217;s no wonder they <a href="https://x.com/thestustustudio/status/2069793307304038677/video/1">idolize</a> Vladimir Lenin.
The long-term plan may seem far-fetched, but its seeds are already sprouting. The DSA started with the Squad: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib — the usual suspects. Then they expanded to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the communist terror-sympathizer who recently <a href="https://x.com/canarymission/status/2069522159311953929">declared</a>: &#8220;[These] were not just victories from one elected office. They were victories of a movement.&#8221; He&#8217;s right. That&#8217;s exactly the point.
The blueprint is methodical: start small in winnable local and state races, build name recognition and infrastructure, primary moderate Democrats, shift the Overton window left on wealth redistribution, housing, policing, immigration, and foreign policy (hating Israel), and eventually capture enough leverage inside the Democratic Party to make it a fully functioning vehicle for socialist priorities.
They will do this for as long as it takes. Their stamina outlasts your attention span.
They can sustain it because their promises will never go out of style: &#8220;Free housing!&#8221; &#8220;Abolish the police!&#8221; &#8220;Healthcare is a human right!&#8221; (It’s not.) In the meantime, the mask slips. At a DSA Socialism conference, a panelist openly <a href="https://x.com/Lancegooden/status/2069846594371854414/video/1">declared</a>, &#8220;I want to perform abortions in a church before it&#8217;s all said and done.&#8221; This came from a panel on &#8220;The Left and the Family,&#8221; which also featured arguments for abolishing the nuclear family, placing children under state supervision rather than with parents, and celebrating sex work. Separately, DSA members have <a href="https://x.com/Liz_Wheeler/status/2069843240170451405">stated</a>: &#8220;It should not be controversial to say &#8216;Death to U.S. empire&#8217; — this should be the moderate position,&#8221; and &#8220;We need to orient ourselves toward insurrection.&#8221;
So yes. These people exist. They are organized. And while you’re watching Love Island and going on matcha dates, they are winning races.
They are also the direct antithesis of everything this country was built on. America&#8217;s foundation rests on individual liberty, limited government, secure property rights, free enterprise, and a civic culture rooted in Judeo-Christian tradition. The DSA&#8217;s project — collective economic control, mass redistribution, cultural radicalism targeting the family, and the deliberate erosion of American power abroad — attacks every single one of those pillars.
Like the Frankfurt School before them, they use American institutions as temporary hosts before devouring them from within.
These are not cartoon villains in ski masks plotting gulags for tomorrow. They are organized, funded, patient, and growing today. They believe capitalism is immoral (It’s actually the most moral economic system ever devised), and they are doing everything in their power to kill it. The Democratic Party is just a stepping stone.

After Mamdani’s candidates secured their November spots, the kingmaker took to X to thank <a href="https://x.com/RNCResearch/status/2069780014665478431/video/1">Allah</a>. His comrade Ilhan Omar chimed in with &#8220;<a href="https://x.com/IlhanMN/status/2069614828683939898">Alhamdulillah</a>.&#8221; And Hakeem Jeffries, the biggest loser of the night? He was sent home with his tail between his legs, mumbling that &#8220;a handful of primaries aren&#8217;t going to reshape who we are as House Democrats.&#8221;
Sure, bud.
Establishment Dems are getting <a href="https://x.com/katie_honan/status/2069594271225659590/video/1">booed</a> out of their own backyards. When Jeffries appeared on screen at one of the victory rallies, the crowd jeered, then chanted “You&#8217;re next” to his face.
So the NRCC sent him flowers and a condolence card, which is hilarious. I&#8217;d have sent a one-way ticket out of relevance.
Here&#8217;s the thing, friends. Socialism is <a href="https://x.com/AdamSinger/status/2069735948464664661">winning</a>. First up: Darializa Avila Chevalier, who won the NY-13 primary and knocked out five-term incumbent Rep. Adriano Espaillat. She is a founder of CUAD — Columbia University Apartheid Divest — whose stated goal <a href="https://x.com/EYakoby/status/2069646072465559913">includes</a> “undermining and eradicating America,” through the use of “violence.”
Cute.
She&#8217;s a Dominican-Venezuelan immigrant who converted to Islam but, in her own words, operates <a href="https://x.com/BreitbartNews/status/2069791610359910636/video/1">through</a> &#8220;a black queer feminist lens.&#8221; She wants to <a href="https://x.com/greg_price11/status/2069612181281198135">seize</a> the means of production, abolish the police, abolish the border, and she&#8217;s on record saying that deportation is wrong <a href="https://x.com/AaronBlake/status/2069620095773557214">because</a>, “We&#8217;re all on stolen land!”
She refuses to <a href="https://x.com/guypbenson/status/2069602970702856369">say</a> murderers should go to prison. Refuses to support deporting illegal immigrants convicted of rape. <a href="https://x.com/guypbenson/status/2069602970702856369">Refuses</a> to condemn Hamas or October 7th.
I’d surmise she also refuses to shave her pits and use deodorant.
Next: Aber Kawas, who won the Democratic primary for New York State Senate District 12. A child of <a href="https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/2069625851587576024">illegal</a> immigrants, she wants to abolish ICE completely, campaigned under a <a href="https://x.com/nycDSA/status/2069599449190395941">Palestinian</a>, not American, banner, and <a href="https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/2069636443828359564">blamed</a> September 11th on America&#8217;s &#8220;system of capitalism, racism, white supremacy, and Islamophobia.&#8221;
She&#8217;s also been photographed at protests <a href="https://x.com/EYakoby/status/2069614841325588744">wearing</a> a Hamas headband. Charming.
Then there&#8217;s <a href="https://x.com/BillMelugin_/status/2069610243093385250">Claire Valdez (NY-7)</a>, who cruised to victory promising to grant citizenship and voting rights to illegal aliens, use your tax dollars for all transgender medical treatments, eliminate private health insurance, and abolish ICE.
Her father, notably, runs a firm that secures the Texas border. Pause for the irony there.
And <a href="https://x.com/BillMelugin_/status/2069610243093385250">Brad Lander</a> (NY-10), who ran on forgiving all student loans and expanding the Supreme Court. He&#8217;s a progressive plant, backed by Mamdani and Bernie Sanders, which tells you everything you need to know.
Mamdani and his fixers walk into a bar. The bar is now a commune.
How did this happen? Three things: foreign voters, DSA zealots, and a city #2cool2care.
In Mamdani&#8217;s own mayoral race, over 62% of foreign-born New York voters chose him compared to 31% of American-born voters. Last night, that pattern continued. The DSA knocked on doors. Their volunteers showed up. And the city&#8217;s apathetic native-born population  (the &#8220;New York or nowhere&#8221; crowd) sat on their couch and watched Netflix while socialists rewrote their political future.
Look at the Avila Chevalier numbers. She <a href="https://x.com/bungarsargon/status/2069774401340322295">lost</a> the Bronx portion of her own district by 30 points. She lost majority-black and hispanic neighborhoods. She lost lower-income areas by 10 points. The people she claims to fight for rejected her. So who voted for her? Young voters. High-income voters. College-indoctrinated voters.
Yes, the silver-spoon guilty-white-liberal demographic, voting communist because it makes them feel less bad about their lack of melanin.
Meanwhile, the <a href="https://x.com/billybinion/status/2069785317092086179">DSA</a>  (the organization putting forward all these madhatters) is roughly 85% white. Progressive elitists speaking for the little people who, in the end, didn&#8217;t actually vote for them.
And then there&#8217;s the third group. Not the ones who love this agenda. Not the ones who hate it. The ones who don&#8217;t care. The &#8220;it&#8217;s New York, who cares who runs it&#8221; crowd.

Apathy is a vote. You just didn&#8217;t know who you were voting for.
And into that vacuum, something very organized, very dangerous, and very un-American walked right in.
It&#8217;s called third worldism. And Ronald Reagan, God bless him, saw this coming decades ago. In 1964, he warned that Democrats were dragging their party &#8220;down the road under the banners of Marx, Lenin, and Stalin.&#8221;
He said then what we&#8217;re living now: freedom isn&#8217;t the natural state of things. It has to be defended. Constantly. Or it gets eaten.
Third worldism is the fusion of Islamist ideology with anti-Western, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist grievance politics. It frames Islam and Muslim societies as the authentic, oppressed &#8220;periphery&#8221; locked in a civilizational struggle against the West, and places Islamic unity as the better alternative to liberal democracy, individual rights, and Enlightenment values. It rejects secular law and individual liberty in favor of religious authority and grievance-based solidarity.
In plain English: It’s the end of America as we know it.
It doesn&#8217;t build. It tears down. It doesn&#8217;t innovate. It colonizes grievance. It doesn&#8217;t uplift women — it explains why honor violence is someone else&#8217;s fault. And when brought to America through migration and activism, it imports parallel societies, demands sharia accommodation, and directly conflicts with core Western principles: free speech, equality under the law, and secular governance.
We’re watching this horror film in England. Where alarming percentages of the Muslim community support wife-<a href="https://x.com/NateFriedman97/status/2069446382444810240/video/1">beating</a>. Where city centers are <a href="https://x.com/elonmusk/status/2069470976136360205">unrecognizable</a> to the people who built them. Where hundreds of thousands of young girls are raped, trafficked, and tortured for being white.
Not all cultures are equal. Not all cultures are good. America isn’t perfect, but she is overwhelmingly good. We had the tools, the values, and the moral framework to confront our failures and grow.
Don’t invite the past, whose sole mission is to disrupt our future.
New York — snap out of it. You’re not doing anyone any favors by letting suicidal empathy and performative tolerance dictate your policy and actions.
The little things you take for granted — walking safely into a subway, wearing what you want, eating a $1.50 hot dog in Times Square without a prayer call interrupting your afternoon — are not accidents. They are the product of a civilization built on values these candidates have explicitly rejected.
New York or nowhere? That used to be a love letter to a city. Now it sounds like a dare.

New NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani Makes An Announcement In Brooklyn

Trans violence. It&#8217;s the thing Mayor Brandon Johnson of Chicago wakes up every morning thinking about. It&#8217;s what the liberal media wants you to believe is the greatest threat to American life. And it’s a thing that basically doesn&#8217;t exist.
Except, of course, in the fever dream of progressive politics.
Johnson <a href="https://x.com/ChicagosMayor/status/2068740734971412745">posted</a> to X this weekend, breathlessly announcing that since declaring a &#8220;Transfemicide State of Emergency,&#8221; his administration has &#8220;strengthened the City&#8217;s capacity to support LGBTQ+ Chicagoans.&#8221;
Transwhatnow? Did they mean Transformers? Is someone out there killing Optimus Prime?!
No, no. They&#8217;re referring to the alleged epidemic of hate crimes and violence against trans women of color. The sort that supposedly prompted Johnson&#8217;s Mayoral Working Group to recommend sweeping policy changes and spending taxpayer money to do it.
The impetus for this entire panic? <a href="https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:US:f7516829-6188-4b9c-9203-81c075e2696f">Twenty-two deaths</a>. Mostly black and brown trans Chicagoans. Over a span of 21 years.
That&#8217;s the emergency.
Here&#8217;s the only problem: it&#8217;s not an epidemic. It&#8217;s not even a trend. It&#8217;s a political narrative dressed up in grief, designed to shake loose cash from guilty consciences and win applause from the blue-haired contingent. The claim that there is some wave of anti-trans hate violence sweeping America has <a href="https://www.city-journal.org/article/human-rights-campaign-transgender-murders-white-supremacy?utm_source=virtuous&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=cjdaily">zero</a> basis in reality.
Let&#8217;s start with the most basic question: Are transgender people being murdered at alarming rates?
Nope. The <a href="https://dont-shoot-the-data.github.io/TCLEAR/">only peer-reviewed study</a> to estimate transgender homicide rates found the general population homicide rate was 25.8 per 100,000, while the transgender rate was approximately 3.66 per 100,000, roughly one-seventh the general population rate.
Not an epidemic. The opposite of an epidemic. Trans people are statistically safer than the rest of us.
And who is doing the killing? Not the white supremacists your local diversity officer keeps warning you about. As independent researchers Vincent Lundgren and Colin Wright documented in City Journal, among identified suspects in transgender homicide cases, black suspects account for 65.1% of perpetrators, while white suspects account for 18%.
Huh.
They’ve been doing this for years. In 2020, the very year the Human Rights Campaign published a statement attributing the deaths of “our black trans siblings” to “an epidemic of violence” fueled by “systems of white supremacy,” not a single white suspect was identified in the verified cases.
Not one. Zero. Zilch. But sure, Karen, white supremacy.
The real driver of these deaths was intimate partner violence. The rest? Drug disputes. Robbery. Sex work gone wrong.
Tragedy? Yes. Anti-trans hate crimes at the hands of roaming bigots? Not even close.
Johnson must know this. His own &#8220;Transfemicide&#8221; report cites 22 names — presented as martyrs of anti-trans hatred. But when the actual cases are examined, only two of those deaths were even directly tied to a victim&#8217;s trans identity. De&#8217;Janay Stanton, killed in 2018 by a black boyfriend who became suicidal over the stigma of dating a trans person. And Selena Reyes-Hernandez, killed in 2020 by Orlando Perez upon discovering she was biologically a dude.
Maybe that information should’ve been disclosed before things got steamy?
Enter New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, a willing understudy in the same grift. He kicked off LQBTQABCDEFG month by sharing articles warning of an &#8220;uptick in violent killings&#8221; of transgender people. 
 
<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/mamdani-pushes-one-of-the-lefts-favorite-hoaxes">Small problem:</a> none of the deaths cited were classified as anti-trans hate crimes. Nearly all were domestic violence or personal disputes. But why let facts get in the way of a good fundraising pitch?! 
 
Mamdani also announced $15 million in taxpayer funding for gender-affirming care, launched a citywide &#8220;Trans Rights Are Human Rights&#8221; public awareness campaign, and established New York City&#8217;s first Mayor&#8217;s Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs. And Johnson&#8217;s Transfemicide Working Group, for its part, directs taxpayer-funded city programs toward trans initiatives with similar enthusiasm. 
 
It&#8217;s all smoke and mirrors, and the taxpayers are stuck with the tab.
Meanwhile, back in the Bullet-Wind City, the actual emergency is unfolding on the streets. Through the first four months of 2026, Chicago has <a href="https://news.wttw.com/2026/05/05/shootings-homicides-chicago-year-they-continue-outpace-last-year-s-historic-lows">seen</a> 130 homicides, up from 120 during the same period last year. Shootings have also increased, with 421 recorded so far this year, up 5% compared to 2025. Just last weekend, 39 people were shot, six of them fatally.
These are not hate crimes manufactured by advocacy groups to maximize donor engagement. (Though we have the SPLC for that) These are real people dying in a city governed by a man who is currently convening task forces about a 21-year-long list of 22 names.
The problem is not the lifestyle choices and body counts of 0.5% of the American population. The problem is gang violence, the erosion of policing, Democrat policies that have turned whole neighborhoods into war zones, and a mayor more concerned with ideological optics than with bodies on the sidewalk. The victims are overwhelmingly male, overwhelmingly black, and overwhelmingly failed by the very politicians who claim to be their champions.
Blaming white supremacy or a made-up crisis won’t fix any of this.
The whole operation is a magic trick: manufacture a crisis, glamorize the victim class, redirect outrage away from inconvenient truths, and shake the tin cup at useful rich idiots until it rattles. Make fetch happen. Print &#8220;Transfemicide&#8221; on a press release. Watch the money flow.
Mayor Johnson — and Mayor Mamdani, while we&#8217;re at it — here&#8217;s a thought: clean up crime, get serious about policing, and stop using the bodies of actual murder victims as props for an ideology. Once you do that, your trans numbers might just take care of themselves.
The people dying in your cities don&#8217;t need a new word or a working group. They need a mayor and a mental check.

On Sunday, while the majority of the Western world paused to honor the men who provide, protect, and show up, the Times was busy lionizing women who underwent double mastectomies, injected themselves with testosterone, and are now passing themselves off as dads to impressionable young children.
The <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/21/opinion/trans-dad-parenting-fathers-day.html">piece</a>, titled &#8220;To My Daughter, My Gender Was Never Complicated,&#8221; was written by Zach Ellams — born Clair Ellams — a London-based editor and motion designer, and a biological woman performing the role of father for an audience that eats it up.
The whole thing was a three-pronged disaster: a belittlement of actual fathers, a disturbing window into child confusion manufactured by adults, and a stark exposé of the New York Times&#8217; true priorities.
The essay&#8217;s illustrations were unintentionally the most honest part of the piece. The <a href="https://static01.nyt.com/images/2026/06/21/opinion/21jacobs-1/21jacobs-1-superJumbo-v4.jpg?quality=75&amp;auto=webp">first</a>, captioned &#8220;you need a thick skin to be a parent,&#8221; showed Ellams&#8217; daughter, Elliot, shouting back: &#8220;You&#8217;re slow because you&#8217;re old.&#8221; A thick-skin moment, apparently.

Bless her. It only gets harder from here. Real thick skin between mothers and daughters is earned through war; fights over boys, curfew violations, outfit standoffs at the front door. That&#8217;s tough love, and it’s coming. Getting teased about your pace on a jog is just another Tuesday.
The illustrations also fixated, obsessively, on body hair. Ellams’ beard appeared in every frame: spotty, coarse, and uneven, with the leg hair cutting off at the knees in some panels and disappearing entirely in others. It reads less like confident self-expression and more like a woman overcompensating in ink what biology refused to provide.
As a female, I can confirm: when I don&#8217;t shave, I look like <a href="https://static01.nyt.com/images/2026/06/21/opinion/21jacobs-12b/21jacobs-12b-superJumbo-v3.jpg?quality=75&amp;auto=webp">Figure A</a>. You can change the body of a woman, but you can’t take the woman out of the body.
Novelist Lionel Shriver once <a href="https://x.com/bdomenech/status/2068760284857036874">remarked</a> that &#8220;masculinity as an ideal is pretty ridiculous&#8221; — a sentiment the Times appears to have taken as editorial policy. They didn&#8217;t just celebrate a woman pretending to be a father; they did it on Father&#8217;s Day, with full illustrations, treating the demolition of fatherhood as a gift to their readership.

The hair became a problem beyond the page. On the playground, little Elliot told her friends she wanted a beard when she grew up. Her classmate, in the blunt, unimpeachable logic of childhood, replied: &#8220;You can&#8217;t grow a beard, you&#8217;re a girl.&#8221; Elliot&#8217;s answer: &#8220;My dad did, and he was a girl.&#8221; The illustration showed surrounding parents shooting glares at ‘Zach’. Not at the child — at the adult who manufactured that confusion and sent it to school with her.
Earlier in the piece, Elliot asked her biological mother, “How did you grow a mustache if you were a lady?&#8221; Good question, sweetheart.
Children are not confused about biology. They are made confused by adults projecting their confusion or mental illness. Even in their earliest years, kids understand what their eyes tell them. The rewiring requires repetition; tell them again and again that what they see isn&#8217;t what&#8217;s real, that the rules of nature are negotiable, that it&#8217;s not only okay to defy common sense but courageous.
As Mr. Rogers famously and plainly sang, “Boys are boys from the beginning. Girls are girls right from the start.” Children know this. The project of confusing them is deliberate.
And this carries <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK610258/">documented</a> costs. Trans-identifying adults carry psychiatric burdens at rates that dwarf the general population: depression in up to 76% versus 29%, anxiety disorders in 62% versus 20%, autism spectrum traits around 11% versus 1%, and suicidality four to 13 times higher. These burdens are transmitted through genetics, through modeling, through the daily ambient chaos of a household built on an identity crisis to the children within them.
When Elliot tells her classmates her dad &#8220;was a girl,&#8221; she isn&#8217;t just confused about biology. She&#8217;s absorbing the full emotional weight of her parent&#8217;s pathology and carrying it onto the playground.
The New York Times didn’t run this piece just to mock the 74 million fathers in this country. They ran it because they hardly think about those fathers at all. What they do think about, deeply and devotedly, is the extreme minority of some 130,000 biological females cosplaying as dads.
And they think those women deserve a Sunday spread. Because to them, fatherhood isn&#8217;t sacred. It&#8217;s a problem to be solved.
They have genuine contempt for fathers and want the institution dismantled. When the father is minimized or replaced by a simulacrum, it&#8217;s easier to usher in perverse ideology and capture young minds. Children without anchors are easier to redirect, and for the progressive Left, the grooming and sexual mutilation of your children is the end that justifies every means. That same calculus allowed more than a quarter-million British girls to be raped, groomed, tortured, and abused in the Rotherham and Rochdale scandals, while progressive leaders looked away for years and let the rot spread.
This is the ideology being taught in schools today: children can explain stolen land theory but can&#8217;t pass algebra, why birth rates are collapsing, marriages are cratering, pornography is mainstreamed, and the family is quietly dismantled.
And it&#8217;s why the Times featured four Father&#8217;s Day <a href="https://x.com/mtaibbi/status/2068771487452897357">pieces</a> written by six people — three women, a trans &#8220;man,&#8221; and two childless men — with not a single fathering father among them. The themes were: &#8220;My father&#8217;s death was the start of my life.&#8221; &#8220;My father was an addict who failed me.&#8221; &#8220;The pain of caring for a parent who abused you.&#8221;
That&#8217;s what they think fatherhood is. A wound.
I feel sorry for the dads.
Because fatherhood is so much more than whatever grievance theater the Times is packaging for its perpetually aggrieved readers.
My father is everything to me. He is the reason my sisters and I are who we are. He is a sounding board, an equalizer, the calm in our chaotic female storm. He sends Bible verses and spontaneous motivational texts, always followed by &#8220;I love you.&#8221; When I come to him with a car question, a finance question, a &#8220;how do I do this&#8221; — he responds in seconds, putting down his own work without a second thought. In return for my thanks that can never adequately be expressed, he shoots back the simple thumbs-up emoji. Because his unending support isn’t a favor. It’s just part of the job.
He taught us patience. He taught us kindness. He once told me his whole philosophy was to just &#8220;smile at people — makes them feel good.&#8221; He is most content after a day tending to his chickens and his yard, gathered around the dinner table with all his girls.
He is our everything. He is needed and he is wanted. And I will never — not for one solitary minute — allow a loveless, liberal newspaper to belittle his glory.
Thank you, dads. We love you.

Twenty-five years ago, it didn&#8217;t matter if you were red, white, blue, black, gold, or purple. On July Fourth, our nation&#8217;s birthday, Republicans and Democrats both showed up for the party.
Not anymore.
In 2026, we can&#8217;t agree on the color orange, whether water is wet, or what the American flag even stands for. And the polling proves it. Sixty-four percent of Republicans will display the American flag on July Fourth. Democrats? Twenty-seven percent.
Back in 2001 — before the towers fell, before the culture war went nuclear — Democrats and Republicans were nearly identical in how proud they were to call themselves Americans. Eighty-seven percent of the country, unified, coast to coast. Then came the decades of left-wing institutional rot, and here we are: 90% of Republicans say they are proud to be American. Democrats? 29%. That is a 61-point gap between two halves of a country that used to grill out together.
Absolutely pathetic.
The Left has always been a little less enthusiastic about American symbols, but this is more than dyspepsia; this is pure contempt. More Gen Z Democrats say they have little or no pride in being an American than say they are extremely or very proud. Think about that. The party of &#8220;our democracy&#8221; has produced a generation that actively dislikes the country more than they love it.
Instead of parties this July Fourth? They&#8217;ll be hosting off-key sing-alongs, mourning deported illegal aliens, and papering their doors with rainbow stickers. Old Glory won&#8217;t make an appearance.
Here&#8217;s why that matters.
That flag proudly wears thirteen stripes for the colonies that told a king to pound sand in 1776. Fifty stars for the states bound together under a Constitution that declared rights come from the Creator — not from government. It flew over Washington, crossing the Delaware in the snow. It inspired Francis Scott Key to write the national anthem while British rockets lit up the night over Fort McHenry. It led the charge at Normandy and planted itself on the moon.
The stars and stripes don’t represent perfection. They represent the longest-running experiment in ordered liberty the world has ever seen.
The modern Left cannot rally around any of that. Their entire worldview requires them to see America as an original sin that can never be forgiven. Slavery existed here — just as it existed on every continent for thousands of years. The difference is that the principles in that flag gave Americans the moral and legal tools to end it. The Left&#8217;s preferred history — the 1619 Project revision pushed in classrooms and newsrooms — pretends those principles never existed. It teaches children that the country was founded on oppression rather than on the radical idea that all men are created equal.
The feature, ladies and gentlemen, never the bug.
The New Left that took over universities in the 1960s and 1970s did not want to reform America. It wanted to delegitimize it. Herbert Marcuse and the critical theory crowd taught a generation that Western civilization, and America in particular, was the source of all repression. Repressive tolerance became the rule: shut down any defense of the country as “hate,” while every grievance gets a platform. Decades later, the results are in the polling.
Democrats who went through that education system now look at the flag the way a vampire looks at garlic.
They&#8217;ve been trained to see every American success as stolen and every American failure as proof the whole thing is rotten, all while living in the country with the highest living standards, the strongest military, the freest speech, and the most opportunity any large nation has ever produced. The hypocrisy writes itself.
So let them sulk. Let them treat July Fourth like a national day of mourning.
The rest of us still believe in the country that produced the Wright brothers, the polio vaccine, the internet, and the men and women who stormed beaches to liberate continents. Republicans aren’t just holding the line. We are still building. Entrepreneurs are creating jobs instead of burning buildings. Mothers are raising children instead of raising fists at the system. Young men are enlisting or starting businesses instead of majoring in resentment.
The revolutionary spirit that won independence never left the Right. It just got busy winning in the real world.
The numbers keep dividing because one side loves what America is, and the other resents what it has achieved. That isn&#8217;t a disagreement over policy. That is a fundamental rejection of the country itself.
Democrats hate the flag. We don’t.
This July Fourth, fly it anyway. Fly it high. Fly it for the people who built this place and for the ones still trying to keep it worth defending. 
The Left can keep their grievance parade. The rest of us have a country to celebrate.

Now liberals are equating UFC with porn and lynching. God, they ruin everything.
They&#8217;ve gone completely off the rails. These people hate men. They hate women who like men. They hate patriotism, marriage, babies, traditional entertainment, and anything that looks like unapologetic joy. Except Joy Reid&#8217;s version of it, maybe. And did I mention they loathe men? This is where the Democratic Party stands in 2026: proving every single day that there&#8217;s no crawling back to sanity.
They&#8217;re not moderating. They&#8217;re not reflecting. They&#8217;re doubling down on the sneering, joyless, elitist nonsense that already cost them working-class voters by the truckload.
Take the recent White House UFC event on the South Lawn. Conservative writer Marc Thiessen <a href="https://x.com/marcthiessen/status/2066172759823065239">praised</a> it as Trump opening the doors to regular Americans — the kind who enjoy motocross rallies and monster truck shows. New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2026/06/15/opinion/ufc-freedom-250-fight.html">responded</a> by sneering that if you&#8217;re okay with that, you&#8217;re an elitist snob in reverse. Then she went nuclear: &#8220;Like Ultimate Fighting, porn is extremely popular, but I somehow doubt Thiessen would defend a Democratic president who invited a bunch of OnlyFans creators to the Oval Office while he was losing a war.&#8221;
Wild comparison. Is she on Hunter Biden’s crack? But somehow it got worse.
On Jim Acosta&#8217;s show, historian Heather Cox Richardson — the same one who treats every Republican breath as a constitutional crisis — actually said <a href="https://x.com/WesternLensman/status/2066680661025468757/video/1">this</a> with a straight face: &#8220;It&#8217;s not really a stretch to say that the same impulse that created the UFC fight on the White House lawn is the impulse that really pushed lynching in the late 19th century.&#8221;
Lynching! And Perma-victim-Acosta just hmmed in agreement, like she&#8217;d dropped profound historical wisdom instead of a brain-melting false equivalence.
UFC fights equal lynching. UFC fights equal porn. Motocross rallies equal baskets of deplorables. Got it. By this logic, anything popular with normal Americans is automatically suspect or sinister.
They despise us. Not in the polite &#8220;we disagree on policy&#8221; way. The Left genuinely believes all Republicans are flannel-wearing hillbillies who enjoy combat sports, big trucks, and rowdy crowds, and that we’re the moral and cultural scum of the earth.
They would rather die than be caught enjoying the same things the rest of the country finds entertaining.
Motocross rallies are awesome. So are monster trucks. UFC is about as American as it gets — a nation born from fighters, revolutionaries, risk-takers, now celebrating disciplined, high-level athletic competition in a ring. Neither has a damn thing to do with lynching or porn. One is a consensual sport between trained professionals. The other was a racist mob murder. (Smells like the abortion movement in America if you ask me.)
Goldberg should sit this one out. The party lecturing America about sexual liberation has produced exactly what you&#8217;d expect. Gallup data shows Republicans are dramatically more likely to be married than Democrats, especially in prime family-forming years. The gap has widened over decades as Democrats have embraced lifestyles that de-emphasize marriage and family <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/646793/why-marriage-became-partisan.aspx">formation</a>. Institute for Family Studies <a href="https://ifstudies.org/blog/the-growing-link-between-marriage-fertility-and-partisanship">research</a> consistently finds that conservatives and Republicans have higher fertility rates and are far more likely to have children. Liberal women, by contrast, show markedly lower completed fertility and higher rates of childlessness.
This isn&#8217;t random. It tracks with broader attitudes. Liberals have long led the charge on &#8220;sex-positive&#8221; culture that celebrates casual sex, delayed or rejected marriage, and the normalization of platforms like OnlyFans. Democrats poll more favorably toward expansive views on sexual liberation and non-traditional arrangements. The party that claims to champion &#8220;joy&#8221; and &#8220;inclusion&#8221; has produced a demographic reality of more single adults, lower marriage rates, and fewer babies — while sneering at the people who still value the opposite.
That&#8217;s why Democrats keep bleeding support. They&#8217;re <a href="http://substack.com/redirect/e3f842fc-a20e-4d7a-ac91-84c95c092ca6?j=eyJ1IjoiMjk0dHMifQ.cmJkfm0X0r0SrUjdPQSLO8z8KA2siPUsFk8HgV3kFag">hemorrhaging non-college </a>voters, men, and anyone who doesn&#8217;t want to be lectured about their entertainment choices or family decisions. The party that once claimed the lunch-bucket crowd now looks down its nose at them from coastal enclaves.
When Trump leaves office after his third term, they’ll have nothing left but the same tired hatred of the next guy. No positive vision. Just more pearl-clutching at monster trucks and cage fights and happiness.
Meanwhile, UFC is thriving. It&#8217;s one of the fastest-growing sports globally, with massive viewership, huge revenue, and broad appeal — especially among young men who need exactly the discipline, fitness, and male camaraderie it provides. Training in martial arts builds confidence, respect, and resilience. Plenty of guys who were drifting have found purpose in the gym and the cage. It&#8217;s popular across every demographic the Left pretends to speak for.
Of course they would hate it.
If liberals could drop the snobby nonsense for five minutes, they might notice that millions of normal Americans — including plenty who aren&#8217;t hardcore conservatives — enjoy UFC precisely because it&#8217;s raw, competitive, and unfiltered. It celebrates toughness and skill instead of fragility and grievance. But they can&#8217;t. They&#8217;re too far gone. They represent an increasingly angry, single, low-fertility, joy-allergic class that thinks the height of sophistication is comparing a sporting event to historical atrocities.
New York Times. Heather Cox Richardson. Jim Acosta. You suck at this. You don’t understand the country you claim to analyze. You don’t even like it. And every time you open your mouths to equate cage fighting with lynching or porn, you just remind the rest of us why normal people tuned you out years ago.

Welcome to America 250. Where the country is Rome-maxxing. And unlike the original, as long as the Optimates stay in charge, this Rome won&#8217;t fall.
Sunday night on the White House South Lawn, a <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HK0bqUuXQAAxfnS?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900">spectacle</a> unfolded that was nothing short of triumphant. Hundreds of patriots gathered in absolute awe beneath &#8220;The Claw&#8221; — a 92-foot steel velarium — to watch some of the greatest fighters alive face off in the octagon. The entire evening felt God-ordained. Before the first bell, a double rainbow <a href="https://x.com/bennyjohnson/status/2066360031314870481">ripped</a> across the sky and arched over the crystal-clear reflection pool, as lightning shattered the sunset and broke the horizon into pieces. This believer will note that earlier in the day, a thunderstorm was forecast to drown the whole thing. Instead, it encircled Washington, D.C., as if the hand of God just gently waved it away. The American flag flew high. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels roared in a rare &#8220;super delta&#8221; formation over the crowd. And an eagle <a href="https://x.com/UFC_AUSNZ/status/2065956132586463653/video/1">soared</a> above the People&#8217;s House like it had read the room. 
 
Americans of every stripe felt it. The vice president was <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HK1S1GlXQAAQZHw?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900">hanging</a> out with the Holy Uncle, Pope Leo&#8217;s brother, at ringside. Jack Osbourne was taking <a href="https://x.com/ginamilan_/status/2066525396871385201">selfies</a> in the crowd; the son of British rock royalty, raised on American excess and correctly appreciating what London could never even dream up. D.C. residents flooded the National Mall to catch a glimpse of <a href="https://x.com/KarluskaP/status/2066496869765718371/video/1">“Uncle Trump!”</a> “Cousin Barron,” and the first-ever trillionaire, “Uncle Elon” in the front row. Dana White was <a href="https://x.com/UFConParamount/status/2066317927398150241/video/1">grinning</a> ear to ear as the national anthem rang out from inside the cage. Mark Zuckerberg sat ringside, completely transfixed, getting a front-row education in what the Right has been building while Silicon Valley was busy with content moderation policies. It would be hard not to feel it. Americans are fighters at heart; it’s in our blood. We’re a nation born from revolutions, and our president knows it. Fight, Fight, Fight. 
And then Justin Gaethje, wrapped in an American flag, on Flag Day, put on one of the great performances in UFC history — pulling off a stunning fourth-round TKO upset of Ilia Topuria to become undisputed lightweight champion on the most historic stage in the sport&#8217;s 33-year history. Every single fight on the card ended in a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBqj3cPhYOc">knockout</a>. Every. Single. One. He made his entrance through the Presidential Walk of Fame, past the bust of Teddy Roosevelt — the president who literally kept a boxing ring in the White House so he could host fights — and you can safely assume TR was smiling down from his likely nature-painted heaven. 
 
This is what patriot-maxxing looks like.
The tide is turning, and you can feel it in your bones. It&#8217;s cool to celebrate your country again. <a href="https://montanafreepress.org/2026/06/15/sean-omalley-has-never-stopped-being-a-montana-kid/">Montana-</a>born and bred Sean O&#8217;Malley dispatched his Canadian opponent with a <a href="https://x.com/UFConParamount/status/2066361089160347687/video/1">nod</a> of approval from the president and the first lady. The World Cup is wowing every European who crosses the ocean to visit. The Czech national team <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HKyWcZ0XsAED0tZ?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900">showed</a> up to the traditional rodeo in Fort Worth — home of the world&#8217;s first indoor rodeo — draped in cowboy hats and grinning in tourist photos. Coca-Cola is making pro-America <a href="https://x.com/trumplicans2024/status/2066241930024169493/video/1">commercials</a> again. German tourists are falling in love and even getting to meet Ella Langley, the country artist who gave us the soundtrack of the summer. Even New Yorkers are in a good <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/knicks-run-away-with-first-nba-finals-win-in-53-years">mood</a>. It&#8217;s a miracle.
Gas prices are <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/one-major-cost-is-falling-fast-after-trump-announces-iran-peace-deal">down</a>. Homicide rates are at decade-low <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/leavitt-highlights-historic-crime-decline-as-murder-rate-hits-lowest-level-since-1900">numbers</a>. Middle-class Americans are getting <a href="https://www.wsj.com/opinion/the-american-middle-class-keeps-getting-richer-7f57dcff">richer,</a> and citizens in every income bracket are actually <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/the-middle-class-is-dying-claim-doesnt-hold-up-against-one-key-reality">gaining</a> ground. Illegal border crossings are functionally over. The government is leaner, the fraud is disappearing, and the White House is bathed in red, white, and blue, instead of the <a href="https://x.com/rightsidefreee/status/2066340656033755365/photo/1">rainbow</a>.
But here&#8217;s the thing. That&#8217;s not why Americans feel the way they do right now.
They feel triumphant because President Trump has purged the apologetic rot. The culture of managed decline, the ideological mandate to be ashamed of your own country, the iron-fisted insistence that Americans adopt and celebrate a set of destructive, anti-American values or be canceled into silence — all of it has been cleared from the capital like the storm that missed the South Lawn. What&#8217;s replaced it is a roaring, unapologetic resurgence of American exceptionalism, and the whole world showed up in Washington this weekend to watch it.
It almost didn&#8217;t happen. We were one bullet, one slight turn of the head, away from none of this being possible. Without that, a tipsy Kamala Harris would have hosted off-key <a href="https://x.com/AF_Insight/status/2066339716060856673/video/1">progressive sing-alongs</a> ad nauseam. Flag Day would have meant a different kind of flag. America 250 would have felt about as patriotic as Greta Thunberg at a Canadian carbon credit summit. Our institutions, our founders, our national pride would have been continually <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HK1jI1NXsAA6e9j?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900">mocked</a> and dismantled by those who believe the country&#8217;s greatest achievement is feeling guilty about itself.
And what did the Left offer last night? We’re still trying to make sense of it.
Ms. Rachel, the children&#8217;s YouTube personality who has spent recent weeks leading protest sing-alongs outside a Newark ICE facility, singing her walls down until &#8220;everyone is free&#8221; — was counter-<a href="https://x.com/Acyn/status/2066317910784778665/video/1">programming</a> the UFC. Jane Fonda, Bette Midler, Joy Reid, and Robert De Niro <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdyVmofQxy4">staged</a> something called &#8220;Rise Up, Sing Out: A Concert for the First Amendment&#8221; at a New York City theater. It pulled a few thousand views on YouTube. De Niro <a href="https://www.aol.com/articles/robert-niro-says-t-love-180229198.html">informed</a> the audience that he &#8220;can&#8217;t love&#8221; his country. Joy Reid did what Joy Reid does. The whole thing was billed as their version of resistance.
It was about as threatening as a soggy pamphlet.
The Left couldn&#8217;t sell out a mid-sized concert hall while over <a href="https://krdo.com/news/2026/06/13/crowds-flock-to-white-house-ellipse-for-fan-event-ahead-of-ufc-fight/#:~:text=Organizers%20have%20allotted%20about%2085%2C000,I%20like%20the%20atmosphere.">85,000 </a>Americans stood on the Ellipse watching the greatest night in UFC history unfold live on the lawn of the White House. That contrast isn&#8217;t incidental. That is the entire argument.
They’re unable to comprehend the sort of joy that we are feeling right now. They can’t imagine why on God’s green earth we are animated about this Americanism. They don’t understand the <a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/HK1D_-nXUAAFjTc?format=jpg&amp;name=900x900">aura</a> because they&#8217;re shrouded in hatred, convinced that American greatness is a myth worth unlearning.
They were wrong. Last night proved it, in high definition, with knockouts. 
 
This week in America, we saw visiting Japanese traditions celebrated alongside our own. We saw Scots in kilts, Czechs in cowboy hats, and Germans singing along to country music. We saw the beauty of distinct cultures, each formed separately and mutually appreciated, all showcasing the best of what they&#8217;ve got on American soil. This is what we fight for. This sense of freedom, pure patriotism, unadulterated oomf. The understanding that here you can do anything and be anyone. That excellence is not a liability. That strength is not something to apologize for.
Caesar didn&#8217;t apologize. He gave the citizens a vision of absolute, unyielding greatness. Let the critics call it bread and circuses. The history books will record this weekend as the moment America 250 looked the world in the eye and remembered exactly who it is.
The rot has been cleared. The boundaries are secure. The era of managing decline is over.
If we can keep the Left out of our way, we can keep it.
