America&#8217;s college campuses are in a state of complete meltdown —  at least in the blue states, where administrators are catering to the whims of America-hating, evil, radical people. 
The question everyone is asking right now is an easy question: Why are these students — the most privileged people in the history of the world, no skill set, no problems — LARPing as terrorists and standing for murderous groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, and the like? Why are they overtly chanting anti-Semitic slogans? Why are they doing all of this? 
 The answer is very simple. They want revolution. 
Gary Saul Morson, a professor at Northwestern University, wrote an interesting book titled “Wonder Confronts Uncertainty,” which is about the history of Russian literature. But what the book is really about is what he describes as a Russian type: the revolutionary, typically from a well-off background but in love with destruction for its own sake.
Mikhail Bakunin, a very famous nineteenth-century anarchist, once said, “The urge to destroy is also a creative urge.” Then, in 1918, a Russian poet named Alexander Blok wrote an essay titled “The Intelligentsia and the Revolution” in which he argued that violence is an antidote to the “boredom, the triviality” of regular life, adding it will “make everything over …  change our false, boring, hideous life … This is called revolution.”
But Revolutionaries cannot succeed without mainstream support. During the lead-up to the Russian Revolution, the so-called constitutional Democratic Party openly cheered and encouraged terrorists, even fundraising for them. After a massive terrorist attack in 1906, the party leader said, “Condemned terror? Never. That would mean the moral death of the party.”
Naturally, when the Bolsheviks actually won, they killed or arrested all the leading members of the Constitutional Democratic Party.

When it comes to our radicals, nothing has changed. These are bored middle- to upper-class kids, privileged by a system that has handed them everything, including admission to our top universities, but given them no mission by their parents or by their society, other than to “find themselves.” They&#8217;ve been told that they are the smartest and brightest, the people who are going to lead us to the future. 
But they&#8217;ve been given no actual set of values. 
So they go to campus and meet fellow revolutionaries and revolutionary professors who are also incredibly privileged and inform them that the system that has given them their privilege is corrupt and evil, and they feel guilty.
Then, the only way to alleviate that guilt is to join the revolution, to cosplay oppression. So they have to find a revolutionary cause and LARP as revolutionaries oppressed by the system and dissociate from their privilege. They have to join the mass of the supposedly “oppressed.”
What&#8217;s going on at these campuses seems like LARPing: live action role playing. And maybe these idiots will go on to integrate into more mainstream institutions, which they then destroy and corrupt from the inside. 
After all, that has been the formula for the last several decades, and it has absolutely destroyed major American institutions, from universities to businesses. The radicals went into traditional American society. Instead of being shaped by those institutions, they shaped them.
But there is, in fact, a darker and more violent path. That is the path where the LARPing for terrorism doesn&#8217;t actually just stop at taking over campus buildings or assaulting Jewish students. That&#8217;s the path where a few acts of violence blossom out, and the real revolution occurs through violence. 
That has happened before in American history. In 1971 and 1972, there were five bombings a day in the United States. Groups ranging from the Black Panthers to the Symbionese Liberation Army to the Weather Underground engaged in violent terrorism every day. 
A possible prediction for the United States is both paths. The radicals will continue to be admitted to the halls of power on the one hand, and on the other, they will increasingly engage in violence, all while humored by the Democratic Party.

What is Joe Biden doing about this? Miguel Cardona, the Secretary of Education, was asked in a recent House hearing: If he could remove the funding from a school that refused to comply with Title VI. In other words, if you wanted to get the administration to enforce Title VI — which says you cannot be harassed or intimidated on a college campus on account of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. —  could the government threaten withdrawal of student funding? Cardona answered yes, of course; if a school refused to comply with Title VI, the government would remove federal dollars.
But they’re not doing that. They’re not even threatening to do that. Why? Because the Biden administration is in the same position as the original Constitutional Democratic Party in Russia. They like patting the radicals on the head. They&#8217;ve been doing this since 2020, when Kamala Harris was talking about bailing out rioters in the middle of Black Lives Matter summer.
These terrible college students, people who believe truly evil things, will likely get more and more revolutionary. And a subset of them will not stop at building takeovers. All it takes is somebody to break the glass first.
So what exactly is going to break the glass? What&#8217;s going to move these people from taking over campus buildings to committing bombings?
It could be as simple as something like Donald Trump winning the 2024 election. Student protesters were rioting in 1968, but it took Richard Nixon&#8217;s election to push those protesters underground and then into overt acts of routine terrorism.
Given that the entire Left has now deemed Trump a fascist threat to the United States, would it truly be that shocking if the same students now barricading themselves inside administration buildings on behalf of actual terrorist groups like Hamas decided to ratchet up their “intifada” to the next level?
No, that would not be shocking at all.

A math and science boarding academy in <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/illinois" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Illinois</a> implemented a plan last school year that encouraged staff at the school to come up with “personalized” gender “support” plans for students who identify as transgender, according to documents shared with The Daily Wire.
The Illinois Math and Science Academy, a <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/illinois-math-and-science-academy-hosts-race-based-retreats-exclusively-for-black-and-latinx-students" target="_blank" rel="noopener">woke</a> public boarding school in Aurora for grades 10-12, rolled out a “Gender Support Process and Plan” last school year that details how the school can support students&#8217; “social transition” while they are at school and away from their parents, <a href="https://defendinged.org/incidents/illinois-math-and-science-academy-has-policy-that-keeps-student-gender-transitions-a-secret-from-parents-administrators-discussing-the-creation-of-gender-inclusive-housing-documents-and-emails-r/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to documents and emails obtained by Parents Defending Education. The plan was created by the school’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion office and school administrators.
“The Gender Support Plan is a resource for transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive students, to guide IMSA in supporting their needs, as well as assisting their social transition while at school,” a <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Gender-Support-Process-and-Plan-IMSA-IL-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">copy</a> of the plan obtained by Parents Defending Education says. “This may include, but not limited to the following: access to restrooms, locker room accessibility, affirmation of student’s chosen name and pronouns, disclosure of students identity as requested by student, confidentiality of gender identity as requested by student, social-emotional supports, staff training, and other supports expressed by the student.”
School Chief Public Affairs and Development Officer Tami Armstrong told The Daily Wire that the plan was rolled out in October 2022 and is still “under development” and that it “has not been fully implemented due to resource limitations.”
“The plan is designed to provide guidance and resources for faculty and staff to support the needs of transgender, nonbinary, and gender expansive students,” Armstrong said. “Support is intended to be personalized based on the specific needs of each student within IMSA&#8217;s capacity.”
The plan says that it was influenced by Gender Spectrum, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Chicago Public School policies. Previous <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/chicago-hospital-works-hand-in-glove-with-schools-to-push-gender-transition-radical-gender-theory-on-students-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reporting</a> indicated that Lurie Children&#8217;s Hospital of Chicago has worked to push radical gender theory at schools.

The support plan also said that parents should be left in the dark about the gender that their child identified as if the child did not want them to know.
“School staff shall not disclose information that may reveal a student’s Chosen Name, Gender Identity, and Pronouns to others,” the plan said. “Therefore, given the sensitive nature of the information, when speaking with parents, guardians, other staff members, or third parties, school staff should not disclose a student’s Chosen Name, Gender Identity, and Pronouns, or other confidential information pertaining to the student’s transgender or gender nonconforming identity without the student’s permission, unless authorized to do so by IMSA’s Law Department.”
Part of the plan included a form filled out about the student that indicated whether a guardian was aware and “SUPPORTIVE” of a student’s “gender identity.”

If the guardian was in the dark, staff were asked to think about how to handle phone calls and notes to home in light of that information.
According to Armstrong, “a student&#8217;s legal name, preferred name, and personal pronouns” are all listed in the school system, which parents and guardians can access.
The plan says that students are able to use the restrooms and locker rooms of the gender that they identify as. Emails obtained by Parents Defending Education indicated that staff had also <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/IMSA-Gender-emails-Redacted-1.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">discussed</a> “gender inclusive living,” but that policy hadn&#8217;t yet been developed. Armstrong told The Daily Wire that students were housed by the sex on their birth certificate.
The emails obtained by PDE show conflict among staff at the school after one faculty member emailed the DEI director in February 2023 complaining about not getting access to the Gender Support plan and asking that DEI stays “top of mind across the institution, especially at the cabinet level.”
In response, the DEI officer responded: “Please stop blaming me for things, this work began before you!”

The school has instituted a vast DEI program that emphasizes racial and sexual identity, which includes <a href="https://digitalcommons.imsa.edu/dei_gsoe/2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">requiring</a> seniors to attend a three-hour training session called the “Gender and Sexual Orientation Diversity Education Workshop.”
“The goal of this program is to increase the awareness, knowledge, and skills for individuals and address the challenges that exist when one wants to advocate for their LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, asexual)+ peers, family members, friends, and for themselves,” the course description says.
As part of the workshop, staff use the “Gingerbread Person,” from “ItsPronouncedMetrosexual.com” to teach students about “gender identity” and “gender expression.”

Elsewhere in the <a href="https://defendinged.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Safe-Zone-Participant-Guide.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">curriculum</a>, resources from the Gay Alliance are used to teach kids about “being respectful to transgender people.” The resources include claims that surgeries to remove healthy body parts, such as mastectomies on females who identify as males, are not cosmetic, but necessary.
“The changes I make to my body are not cosmetic, but rather reconstructive. Having a body I am comfortable with is vital to my health,” one part of the curriculum says, while another asserts, “If I am a transman getting top surgery, then I am not ‘getting my breasts removed.’ I am having chest reconstruction.
Erika Sanzi, of Parents Defending Education, ripped into the school for its promotion of gender ideology.
&#8220;It&#8217;s a shame that a school with the words math and science in its name has been totally captured by gender ideology but these emails and documents leave no doubt that is the case,” she said. “There is no justification for a school to be deliberately hiding information from parents or compelling student speech.&#8221;

This isn’t the first time Columbia University president Minouche Shafik has faced questions over how she will discipline an anti-Semitic mob on her campus, and her past performance has critics in Congress concerned that Columbia’s protesters will get off unscathed.
In 2021, with Shafik at the helm of the London School of Economics, the Israeli ambassador to the United Kingdom Tzipi Hotovely was swarmed by a mob of protesters after she was invited to speak at the prestigious university’s Debating Society.
Video from the November 9, 2021 incident shows police had to hold back a mob of Palestinian flag-waving protesters who attempted to swarm her car — protesters reportedly chanted the genocidal “From the River to the Sea” chant and waved the flags of U.S.-designated terror organization, Kata’ib Hezbollah.

Though the university, similar to Columbia, called intimidation and threats of violence “completely unacceptable” and warned that “students identified as being involved in making such threats will face disciplinary action,” there’s no indication that any such action was taken. Neither the university nor Shafik, who had been president of the school since 2017, responded to requests for comment on the incident.
Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY), who has been one of Shafik’s harshest critics and has called on her to resign, said the incident gives her “zero confidence” that there will be consequences for the “pro-terrorist” students.
“Columbia University President Shafik&#8217;s history of allowing students who perpetrate antisemitic attacks to go unpunished gives me zero confidence that Shafik will follow through and hold Columbia students accountable for their role in the antisemitic, pro-terrorist mob that has seized control of the university,” Stefanik told The Daily Wire. “Shafik must be terminated immediately, and Columbia University must make public the names of every student suspended or expelled for taking part in this antisemitic mob.&#8221;
Columbia’s Hamilton Hall and South Lawn were cleared of anti-Israel protesters after nearly two weeks of the school engaging in negotiations with students and refusing to clear the encampment permanently by force. While the school has continually threatened disciplinary actions, some worry that the students will avoid consequences.
Similarly to the ongoing protests on college campuses across the United States, there was overt anti-Semitism present at the 2021 incident at Shafik’s London School of Economics.
The 2021 mob coincided with the 83rd anniversary of Kristallnacht — also known as the Night of Broken Glass — when Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues were vandalized by Nazis across Germany.
Ahead of the event, an Instagram account called LSEclasswar encouraged violence, according to <a href="https://www.jpost.com/breaking-news/uk-ambassador-evacuated-after-pro-palestinian-activists-crash-debate-kan-news-684537">The Jerusalem Post</a>, writing “Whoever smashes the Ambassador [sic] car window gets pints.  Let’s f**king frighten her.”
Several of the students who hosted Hotovely were followed home, harassed, and threatened with violence, according to <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10190223/Pro-Palestine-protestors-followed-students-home-calling-war-criminals-LSE-event.html">The Daily Mail</a>.
“At the end of the talk I waited for my friends to leave the premises so that I could walk with them,” a student reportedly said. “More worryingly four to five individuals began to follow us as we walked down Lincoln park and these individuals in particular began to verbally harass the organizers by saying the ‘Kashmiri people are ashamed of you’ and that ‘&#8217;you are war criminals.’”
“One individual in particular began to physically threaten the organizers by saying ‘I will f*** you up, p****holes’ and ‘come on, fight me, p****holes.’” the student added.
The event was the first of a series which included a subsequent event with the Palestinian ambassador to the U.K., Husam Zomlot.
Hotovely thanked the British government for support following the ordeal, and said she would not be intimidated.

FLASHBACK: This Isn’t The First Time A Minouche Shafik-Led University Allowed Anti-Semitic Mob To Take Over

In the court proceedings involving whether Georgia prosecutor Fani Willis hired her boyfriend to try the president of the United States for a crime — and lied about it — one piece of sworn testimony was particularly dramatic.
Her father, John Floyd III, testified to the court in February that his daughter was “forced” to move after she was first elected. “After she was sworn in on January 1, 2021, on or about the third of February at probably 5, 5:30 a.m. in the morning,” Floyd explained, “there were people outside her house cursing and yelling and calling her the b-word and n-word. It was bizarre. Fortunately, the neighbors called the police and disbanded the group.”
That was his explanation for why Willis wound up living in an apartment owned by a friend, who testified that Willis was dating Nathan Wade before she hired him to lead the prosecution. Floyd remained in the house, which was owned by Willis, until 2022 and detailed the threats in his testimony.
“They said they were going to blow up the house, kill her, kill me, kill my grandchildren. I mean, on and on. I was concerned for her safety,” he testified. “It was so crazy. We had people, we had a guy who showed up in a parked car for probably eight hours, and we&#8217;d call the police.”
“The South Fulton police, first they put a car in front of the house that was there permanently, a police car. &#8230; They brought a person with a dog once, sometimes twice a day to circle the house to look for bombs,” he said. “Also, somebody sprayed, again, the b-word and n-word on the house, I don&#8217;t think my daughter even knew that. I cleaned it off and called the police, the South Fulton Police. I&#8217;m sure they have the records of the things that happened.”
But in response to a public records request by The Daily Wire, the City of South Fulton Police Department said it had no record of any of those incidents. In fact, the single incident report pertaining to the home was a report of an abandoned vehicle in July 2021; the vehicle was impounded.
South Fulton Police chief of staff Jubal Rodgers said in an interview, in which The Daily Wire explained that it was seeking corroboration of Floyd’s testimony, that he had not been able to locate any records, but that “Madam DA Willis has her own executive protection along with sworn officers, plus Fulton County has officers,” so it was possible that another entity handled the incidents.
The Fulton County Police Department, however, said that “no records exist” in response to a public records request for “any police report, incident report, or dispatch log from November 1, 2020 through June 1, 2021 pertaining to” the block. The request noted that “this is the home of District Attorney Fani Willis and her father John Clifford Floyd III (who may have a FCPD protective detail).”

The Fulton County Sheriff’s office told The Daily Wire that it had no record of any incident on the block in the first half of 2021. 
A spokeswoman for the Fulton County Marshal said that office was not involved.
A spokesman for Willis, Jeff DiSantis, did not respond to a question about the lack of police records and a request to provide records on threats from Willis’ security detail.
While the absence of public records does not prove definitively that the events did not happen, it raises questions, particularly because Floyd specified that a neighbor called police — meaning it would likely not be internal to a special security detail. Floyd also said that Fulton County police responded, and that there were threats to kill him, presumably also not falling under the DA’s security detail.
The story, contending that in Fulton County — where 74% of residents voted against Donald Trump and a plurality of people are black — a mob of early-bird racists gathered at 5:30 a.m. to shout racial slurs at the home of an obscure public official who had the power to put them in jail, is in some ways reminiscent of actor Jussie Smollett’s claim that while he was walking in subzero temperatures in Chicago with a Subway sandwich, white men screamed the n-word and f-word at him while saying Chicago was “MAGA Country.” He was ultimately jailed for filing a false police report.
Questions of credibility were at the core of the Fulton County proceedings, which ended in Judge Scott McAfee ordering that either Willis or Wade be removed from the case against Trump. Wade <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nathan-wade-steps-down-as-special-prosecutor-in-trump-georgia-case-following-judges-ruling" target="_blank" rel="noopener">resigned</a> in March.
Willis said she began a relationship with Wade after she hired him as special prosecutor in November 2021, rather than improperly steering a contract to a paramour. An expert witness for the defense said that Willis and Wade exchanged <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/cellphone-data-contradicts-nathan-wades-testimony-on-relationship-with-fani-willis-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">12,000 texts</a> and calls between January and November 2021.
Wade acknowledged that he said under oath that he had not spent time with other women before his divorce was finalized, even though that was not true.
Wade used his work credit card to pay for extravagant trips with Willis. Willis contended that she reimbursed him, though there was no record of it because it was in cash.
Floyd sought to bolster his daughter’s credibility by saying he advised her to keep thousands of dollars in cash on hand because “it’s a black thing.”
Willis began a criminal probe into Trump days after the purported mob outside her home, and ultimately charged Trump and 18 others with charges related to alleged election interference.
The case has been paused since the March ruling as the disqualification ruling has been before an appeals court, but is likely to return to the public eye soon. The appeals court has until mid-May to decide whether it will review McAfee&#8217;s ruling — in which the judge declined to dismiss the case entirely on the basis of prosecutorial misconduct, despite criticizing Willis for &#8220;legally improper&#8221; activity.
In October, Willis used a purported 150 threats against her as justification for asking the Fulton County Board of Commissioners to allow her to designate more staff as &#8220;<a href="https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/2023/10/04/fani-willis-says-shes-received-150-personal-threats-last-2-months-following-trump-indictment/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">personal</a>&#8221; employees not subject to some personnel rules, saying she&#8217;s &#8220;got to have people who are loyal to me.&#8221;
An Alabama man was <a href="https://www.justice.gov/usao-ndga/pr/alabama-man-indicted-threatening-fulton-county-district-attorney-and-sheriff-regarding" target="_blank" rel="noopener">charged</a> that month with leaving a threatening voicemail about Willis on a Fulton County customer service line.

A GoFundMe has been set up to fund a &#8220;<a href="https://www.gofundme.com/f/pi-kappa-phi-men-defended-their-flag-throw-em-a-rager?utm_campaign=p_lico+share-sheet-first-launch&amp;utm_medium=copy_link&amp;utm_source=customer">rager</a>&#8221; for a group of fraternity brothers who helped defend the American flag on the University of North Carolina&#8217;s Chapel Hill campus, refusing to back down even as pro-Palestinian protesters surrounded them and shouted profanities and threw water on them.
The incident was documented by UNC student Guillermo Estrada (with the help of some photos from <a href="https://www.instagram.com/_parkerali/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Parker Ali</a>), who said that he had jumped into the fray not for political reasons but simply because he did not want to see the American flag disrespected by his fellow students.
&#8220;Today was a sad yet empowering day at Chapel Hill. When I walked to class, I saw the Palestinian flag raised on our quad flag pole, and was immediately upset at the act that these &#8216;protestors&#8217; had made. I cannot say I am fully educated on the Israel/Palestine conflict, but it upset me that my country&#8217;s flag was disrespected in order to advocate for another. Shortly after, Chancellor Roberts came with police officers to hang the flag once again. They were met with profanity, middle fingers, thrown bottles, rocks, and water,&#8221; Estrada said.

Things got wild on Tuesday night during the Brewers-Rays game in Milwaukee when two players started throwing punches, resulting in four suspensions over the brawl.
It happened at American Family Field in the eighth inning when Jose Siri — for the Tampa Bay Rays — grounded out against Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe, leading to words being exchanged between the players, the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/rays-brewers-fight-0ce4ffb5461f204cc1c0675279d902d5">Associated Press</a> reported.
In the <a href="https://x.com/BBCSport/status/1785658454813610481">clip</a> on social media, the umpire then got in between the two players attempting to cool things off, before Uribe took a giant swing at Siri —followed by the Rays player hitting right back.
In just a matter of seconds, the Brewers and Rays dugouts and bullpens completely emptied out, with multiple players now involved in the huge brawl.
Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins could be seen trying to break things up before he got pushed to the ground.
“I don’t know who said something first but I saw them talking to each other somewhat discreetly and then off it went,” Hoskins told the AP.

Speaking to the press Siri said — through an interpreter — “He [Uribe] was the one who threw first. I don&#8217;t think I did anything bad,&#8221; <a href="https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/40064273/four-suspended-roles-brewers-rays-brawl">ESPN</a> reported.
&#8220;When I was in the on-deck circle and he was warming up I felt like he kept looking over at me and staring at me, so I just had that feeling,&#8221; he added. &#8220;Obviously, when I went to first base, I confirmed that he had a problem with me.&#8221;
Before the brawl, things had started to get tense between the two teams after Brewers starting pitcher Freddy Peralta appeared to intentionally throw a ball at Siri, hitting him with a 3-0 fastball, leading to ejections for Peralta and Brewers manager Pat Murphy, the AP noted.
The move resulted in Peralta being taken off the pitcher’s mound and replaced by Uribe.
On Wednesday, the MLB announced varied suspensions for the three Milwaukee players and Siri, with all four being fined, the outlet noted.
Uribe got a six-game suspension for the brawl with Siri, while Peralta was suspended for five games for allegedly intentionally throwing at Siri in the sixth inning, something he has denied.
“There was no reason for me to hit him,” Peralta said. “My pitch count was really low and my goal tonight was to go deep into the game and give our bullpen a breather because they’ve been working a lot, so there was no reason to hit him.”
The Rays player initially received a three-game suspension that was reduced to two, and Murphy will also be forced to sit out for two games as a result of Peralta&#8217;s actions.

The United Methodist church has lifted its four-decade ban on <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/lgbtq" target="_blank" rel="noopener">LGBT</a> clergy members.
On Wednesday with no debate, church delegates repealed a ban prohibiting “self-avowed practicing homosexuals” from being ordained or appointed as ministers.
Delegates voted 692-51 at their first General Conference in five years, a sharp contrast to previous conferences, which have upheld the ban.
The ban was initially introduced in 1984.
Penalties for celebrating same-sex marriages were also overturned. The United Methodist church had previously put performing same-sex unions on a list of offenses that could result in a church trial.
The General Conference was held at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Many LGBT supporters in attendance at the conference reacted emotionally, hugging and crying at the decision, <a href="https://www.umnews.org/en/news/40-year-ban-on-gay-clergy-struck-down" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according</a> to United Methodist News. Applause also broke out after the vote.
&#8220;New every day is your love, great God of light, and all day long you are working for good in the world,&#8221; prayed retired Methodist Bishop Hope Morgan War. &#8220;Stir up in us desire to serve you, to live peacefully with our neighbors and all creation, and to devote this day to your service.&#8221;

Also in attendance was Methodist Bishop Karen Oliveto, the church&#8217;s first openly lesbian bishop in the United Methodist Church.
“It seemed like such a simple vote, but it carried so much weight and power, as 50 years of restricting the Holy Spirit’s call on people’s lives has been lifted,” Oliveto said. “People can live fully into their call without fear. The church we’ve loved has found a home for us.”
“We’ve been going on like this since the ’70s and, finally, in just a brief few minutes with no debate, it was gone. And now we can get on about the business of the church,” said Marilyn Murphy, an observer from the South Carolina Conference.
“I did tear up this morning at the announcement of the vote because it was just a huge relief to see justice had been done after so many years,” <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/01/us/united-methodist-church-lgbtq-clergy-reaj/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Matt Patrick, co-pastor at the University United Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. “There’s just been a lot of pain in order to get us to this place.”
Conservatives in both the Methodist Church, as well as the Episcopal and the Evangelical Lutheran Churches have objected to the move toward LGBT clergy. Some have even broken away to form their own denominations in response.
“This is certainly the lightning rod issue, the presenting issue, but our division goes so much deeper,” <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/01/us/methodist-church-gay-ban-lgbtq.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> Rob Renfroe, president of Good News, a Methodist traditionalist caucus.
“As the church becomes more and more liberal, and if a social agenda becomes its driving force, that’s not going to grow the church,” Renfroe said.
In recent years, many Christian churches have moved in a progressive direction, including on LGBT issues.
Speculation has swirled about whether the Catholic Church would change its positions on issues like women clergy, contraception, gay marriage, and gender ideology, but the church has never changed its official doctrine.

Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) said at a press event on Wednesday that university leaders who have placated pro-Hamas extremists on their campuses deserve to lose their jobs and their schools should have their federal funding pulled.
Barrasso&#8217;s remarks come as multiple major universities have seen encampments spring up on their campuses where anti-Semitism has been fostered and various criminal acts have taken place.
&#8220;Violent mobs are continuing to sweep across America&#8217;s campuses. And these are anti-Jewish mobs, pro-Hamas mobs,&#8221; Barrasso said. &#8220;We have Jewish students on campus who are hearing the kind of threats that their great grandparents heard in Nazi Germany. And yet, the Biden administration and the Democrats across the country refuse to act.&#8221;
&#8220;Jewish students have actually been chased out of the classroom and off campus. And yet, university administrators, they cater to the mobs,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;The pro-Hamas terrorists have been out there shutting down classrooms and they have canceled classes today at UCLA. Commencements have been canceled.&#8221;
Barrasso said that college university presidents and administrators who have &#8220;put extremism ahead of education&#8221; should &#8220;lose their jobs.&#8221;
&#8220;So, Joe Biden and the national Democrats try to downplay this un-American activity. That&#8217;s dangerous and it&#8217;s wrong,&#8221; he said. &#8220;We have laws in this country to protect against violence, to protect students. Students have a right to be protected. Jewish students, all students on campus [have a right to be protected] from harassment, from discrimination.&#8221;
He said that schools that have failed to protect students should &#8220;lose their federal funding.&#8221;
&#8220;But Joe Biden would rather waffle than act. And why is that? Why does he bow down to these pro-Hamas protesters? It&#8217;s because of the election coming up and he knows he needs their votes,&#8221; he concluded. &#8220;That&#8217;s absolutely wrong. What the president ought to be doing is applying the law, returning order to campuses, and getting students back into the classroom.&#8221;

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/arizona" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Arizona</a> GOP-controlled state Senate voted on Wednesday to pass a repeal of the 160-year-old law protecting unborn children from nearly all abortions after the state&#8217;s Supreme Court <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arizona-supreme-court-upholds-1864-law-protecting-unborn-babies-from-abortion-in-nearly-all-cases" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allowed</a> the law to go into effect last month.
Two Republicans joined 14 Democrats to give the repeal enough votes to pass the state Senate after <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/arizona-house-passes-bill-to-repeal-1864-abortion-law" target="_blank" rel="noopener">three Republicans voted</a> with Democrats in the state House last week to approve the legislation, the Associated Press <a href="https://apnews.com/article/arizona-abortion-1864-ban-repeal-24578e546b69ca087e01034bcaf4aa01?taid=66329bfc51aaaa000107ec96&amp;utm_campaign=TrueAnthem&amp;utm_medium=AP&amp;utm_source=Twitter" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. The final vote tally in the state Senate was 16-14.
State Sen. Jake Hoffman blasted his Republican colleagues who joined with Democrats in passing the repeal.
“It is disgusting that this is the state of the Republican Party today,” Hoffman said.
Meanwhile, Arizona Democratic Attorney General Kris Mayes said the vote is “a win for freedom in our state.”
The abortion ban repeal now heads to Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs&#8217; desk, who is expected to sign it. Hobbs has <a href="https://azgovernor.gov/office-arizona-governor/news/2024/04/governor-katie-hobbs-statement-extremist-republicans-yet-again" target="_blank" rel="noopener">condemned</a> the abortion ban, saying, “A law from 1864 written by 27 men cannot be allowed to govern the lives of millions of Arizona women.&#8221;
If Hobbs signs the bill, state law will revert to a 15-week abortion limitation that was signed into law by former Republican Governor Doug Ducey in 2022. The near-total abortion ban, however, will be in effect for a limited time as the repeal won&#8217;t take place until 90 days after the end of the legislative session, which will likely be June or July, according to the AP. Attorney General Mayes said her &#8220;office is exploring every option available to prevent this outrageous 160-year-old law from ever taking effect.”
The 1864 law banned abortion in every circumstance except when the mother&#8217;s life was in danger. It also punished anyone who aided in an abortion by two to five years in prison. The Arizona Supreme Court upheld the law last month, and said it was &#8220;enforceable.&#8221; The decision was celebrated by pro-life groups, such as Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, which called it an &#8220;enormous victory for unborn children and their mothers.&#8221;

Americans have named immigration as the single biggest problem facing the United States for the third month in a row, a series of polls from Gallup has found.
The open-ended <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/644570/immigration-named-top-problem-third-straight-month.aspx">question</a> posed by Gallup found that 27 percent of respondents said that immigration was the biggest issue facing the country in April, with 28 percent saying the same in February and March, up from 21 percent in January.
Nearly half of Republicans, 48 percent, named immigration as the biggest issue facing the country in April, while 52 and 57 percent said so in March and February, respectively. The share of independents who dubbed immigration as America’s top issue rose to 25 percent in April to reach its record high, while just 8 percent of Democrats agreed.
A growing share of respondents say that the economy is the biggest problem facing the country, but the issue sits in third place behind those who said that the government is the biggest problem.

The poll results are just the latest examples amid a mounting number of public opinion surveys that have indicated that Biden is underwater with voters on the critical issue, which has become a top concern heading into the November election.
One poll found that an abysmally low <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-just-20-percent-of-voters-say-united-states-has-control-over-its-borders">20 percent</a> of eligible voters say that the United States has control over its own borders, with a plurality of all age groups surveyed in agreement. Even respondents in states like <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-colorado-voters-say-immigration-is-the-top-issue-as-2024-election-draws-closer">Colorado</a> and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-massachusetts-voters-say-immigration-is-the-top-issue-facing-the-state">Massachusetts</a>, where Biden won a commanding victory in the 2020 election, have said that immigration is the biggest issue facing their respective states. Yet another public opinion survey <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/poll-majority-of-americans-want-to-limit-number-of-migrants-who-can-seek-asylum-hire-more-border-patrol-agents">revealed</a> that a majority of Americans want to limit the number of people who can seek asylum in the U.S. and believe that we should hire more Border Patrol agents.
Another recent poll found that just over half of Americans <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/over-half-of-americans-support-mass-deportations-of-illegal-immigrants">support</a> the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, citing concerns about crime, national security, and the cost to taxpayers. Former President Donald Trump has pledged that he will carry out the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history” if he is reelected in November.
The shifting public opinion has come amid an unprecedented crisis on our southern border under the Biden administration, with officials recording over 9.5 million <a href="https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/nationwide-encounters">nationwide encounters</a> and 1.7 million <a href="https://www.foxnews.com/politics/biden-admin-may-have-lost-track-millions-of-migrants-crossing-southern-border-congressional-report">estimated illegal immigrant gotaways</a> since the Democrat took office. There were only 445,000 total reported gotaways for 2018, 2019, and 2020 under the Trump administration.

The <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/kansas" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Kansas</a> legislature failed to override the governor&#8217;s veto of a ban on transgender medical procedures for children after two Republican lawmakers flipped their votes on Monday.
The failed bill would have banned puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and gender surgeries for minors.
The state Senate successfully <a href="https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/29/politics/kansas-gender-affirming-care-ban-veto-override-fails/index.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">voted</a> 27-13 to override the governor&#8217;s veto. However, the state House voted 82-43, just two votes short of the two-thirds majority needed to push the bill past the veto.
Two Republicans <a href="https://kslegislature.org/li/b2023_24/measures/vote_view/je_20240429191258_506548/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">broke ranks</a> and voted with Democrats to tank the bill. State House Representatives Susan Concannon and Jesse Borjon voted against overriding the governor&#8217;s veto even though both had previously voted in favor of the bill.
“We hear of bullying and ask authorities to make it stop,” Concannon <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HiRN86RTFsw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> from the House floor. “We hear about mental health, about suicide, and ask why. We’re not listening to the impacted youth. Government involvement is not the answer.”
“I voted for this bill in the past due to concerns about the surgery,&#8221; she continued. &#8220;With further consideration, this bill is vague beyond the surgery. These decisions belong between the team of professionals and the parents. The youth need our help, not government overreach. To all who have reached out, I hear you, and vote to sustain the governor’s veto.”
The other Republican who voted against the bill, Borjon, <a href="https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article288108015.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> he &#8220;strongly supports&#8221; prohibiting gender reassignment surgery and &#8220;limiting&#8221; the use of hormone blockers, but that some parts of the bill &#8220;go too far in restricting mental and behavioral health care for children.&#8221;

A Republican and physician who voted in favor, State Senator Mark Steffen, slammed the “woke health care system” for encouraging children to obtain medical gender treatments.
“Today I voted to protect our children from being mutilated,” Steffen <a href="https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article288108015.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a>.
Governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, vetoed the ban earlier this month.
Kelly celebrated the legislature&#8217;s failure to override her veto in a statement Monday night.
&#8220;I am glad that bipartisan members of the legislature have stood firm in saying that divisive bills like House Substitute for Senate Bill 233 have no place in Kansas,&#8221; Kelly said. &#8220;The legislature’s decision to sustain my veto is a win for parental rights, Kansas families, and families looking to call our state home.&#8221;
Under the failed bill, children who were already on puberty blockers, estrogen, or testosterone would have been permitted to continue taking the drugs until the end of this year. However, their doctors would have had to come up with a plan to phase them off the drugs, as well as show that stopping the drugs immediately would endanger the child.
The bill would also have allowed people to sue doctors over transgender medical treatments for children. Doctors could also see their medical licenses revoked if they flouted the ban.
The measure would also have prohibited using state funds like Medicaid to promote transgender medical treatments. State employees would also have been barred from using pronouns that did not match a child&#8217;s biological sex.
Two dozen states <a href="https://www.kansascity.com/news/politics-government/article288108015.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">have</a> laws or policies restricting transgender medical services for children.
In Europe, the momentum is even greater against transgender drugs and procedures for children. England and several other countries have severely restricted medical gender transitions for children.
Both puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones come with serious health risks. Puberty blockers can <a href="https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gender-dysphoria/in-depth/pubertal-blockers/art-20459075">affect</a> bone growth and density and cause sexual dysfunction, voice damage, and infertility, among other issues. Cross-sex hormones can <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/transgender-young-people-in-u-s-have-nearly-doubled-recently-report-shows" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cause</a> infertility, deadly blood clots, heart attacks, increased cancer risks of the breasts and ovaries, liver dysfunction, worsening psychological illness, and other serious conditions.

Pro-Palestinian protesters elsewhere also showed similar contempt for the American flag, but at least in some cases, they got pushback. At University of North Carolina&#8217;s Chapel Hill campus, a small group of <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/gofundme-set-up-to-fund-rager-for-frat-boys-who-defended-american-flag-on-unc-campus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers</a> stood guard as protesters attempted to replace an American flag with a Palestinian flag.
&#8220;When the flag was raised once again, the greek (sic) community began singing the National anthem. As the Chancellor left, the quad erupted into chaos as protestors began removing the flag once again, preparing to destroy it,&#8221; UNC student Guillermo Estrada said. &#8220;My fraternity brother and others ran over to hold it up, in order for it not to touch the ground. People began throwing water bottles at us, rocks, sticks, calling us profane names. We stood for an hour defending the flag so many fight to protect.&#8221;

Jake Crain: Deion Sanders is catching heat once again because he told a player he needed to transfer during the off season. Then the player didn&#8217;t. Now, that player is saying Prime never gave him a chance during the spring.
Nobody&#8217;s forcing anybody to play. I remember when coaches used to gray shirt and blue shirt guys just to be able to have extra guys on the roster and all of a sudden players got cut. I didn&#8217;t see anybody crying when Nick Saban was doing that like they&#8217;re doing with Deion Sanders. I&#8217;m not the biggest Deion Sanders fan in the world, but Xavier Smith transferred from Colorado to Austin Peay. It&#8217;s not like he transferred to another Power Five or somewhere like that.
I don&#8217;t know Xavier Smith, but, buddy, you better toughen your ass up or this world is going to chew you up and spit you out like you were never there.

Blain Crain: Where does he think he is? I don&#8217;t even know how he made it to this point. Did he get babied through middle and high school? Deion Sanders is doing him a favor. Sometimes, back in the day, you wouldn&#8217;t even get this favor; you wouldn&#8217;t even get talked to. You would just slowly walk your way through maybe two years, and then go.
If you&#8217;re not good enough and he knows it, he&#8217;s giving you an outlet to go play the sport that you love. Smith should be saying, “Thanks for telling me this. Now, I don&#8217;t have to waste two years working my ass off when I know I&#8217;m not good enough to make it.” If anything, this is a good thing from Deion Sanders, and it is a coach&#8217;s job to know the finesse of both ways: know how to beat a guy down, but also bring him up. Hell on the field and heaven off of it. It&#8217;s a good mix and the best one knows how to do it.
But how many times has Nick Saban said this to a guy? How many times has Kirby Smart said this to a guy? It&#8217;s not as blown up, obviously because it&#8217;s not Deion Sanders, but I don&#8217;t think this is a bad look from Deion whatsoever.
Jake Crain: I don&#8217;t think it is at all. Now, what Shedeur said is a totally different situation. He was defending his dad and put on social media that he basically couldn’t even remember Smith, and he was mid at best.
Listen, just because you think something doesn&#8217;t mean you should tweet it. All I heard last week was Spencer Rattler dropped to the fifth round of the draft because of a documentary that came out when he was 17. Well, if you’re an NFL scout, I want y&#8217;all to keep that same energy with Shedeur Sanders, with him coming out and saying this about another player.
Now, it&#8217;s probably the truth, but it&#8217;s a bad business decision. If I&#8217;m somebody who’s thinking about drafting Shedeur Sanders, I know he&#8217;s talented, but I&#8217;m worried about the people around him who are facilitating him and giving him business advice because this was just a bad strategy.

Blain Crain: That’s the Caleb Williams effect. How much does your talent outweigh your attitude? 
David Cone: That&#8217;s a question as old as time when it comes to guys who&#8217;ve had a lot of success in the sports arena, especially when you&#8217;re talking about paying them tens of millions of dollars to go to the professional level.
Another thing to consider when a coach tells a guy he’s not playing well enough and should transfer, a lot of times that is just motivation to get them to play better. Oftentimes, a coach will say that, not because they want the player to actually transfer and leave, but because they’re going to do whatever they can to make that player understand he&#8217;s not performing. They’ll stop saying those things when he does start performing up to the standard they’re trying to set, especially as a new coach and a new place.
Jake Crain: Some people accuse me of bias here, but I think Bruce Pearl has one of the best quotes when it comes to this. He tells his own players, “It&#8217;s my job to out recruit you. It&#8217;s my job to keep recruiting better and better players.” It’s a player who knows that up front with a coach who says, “You’re not good enough to play here. I think if you really want an opportunity to play and to have an impact, you probably need to transfer somewhere else. I&#8217;m not going to tell you where, but I&#8217;ll help you and do as much as I can to get you to a place where you can play.” As opposed to telling a player, “Hey, I know how good you are. I know how good you can be. But if you don&#8217;t start performing to the level and reaching your potential, then there&#8217;s not going to be a spot for you here eventually.” To me, there are nuanced ways to handle it, and Prime can be a little bit brash, but, at the end of the day, I would much rather have a coach that tells me I probably need to transfer as opposed to telling me I’m good enough just so the coach has a good third stringer they don’t have to give a bunch of practice reps.  I&#8217;ve seen coaches do that too. At least Prime is taking the high road in that sense.
David Cone: There are multiple things to consider, especially when you&#8217;re not the starting player, including what school would be best. Luckily, I was fortunate to play for a lot of great coaches who I felt like had my back as a person, but their job also depends on having successful football players who win football games.
And everyone grew up in a hometown where there was a guy who was the recreational coach of a baseball or football team who was a really great athlete himself. But he had a son, and he wanted to coach his son. He wanted his son to be the starting quarterback, or he wanted his son to be the starting pitcher. He didn&#8217;t really care about the other players on the team. He may not have known their name. And guess what? In five years, when his kid&#8217;s not playing rec league anymore because he&#8217;s moved on to middle school or high school, he&#8217;s not a little league coach anymore.
I think that&#8217;s Deion Sanders, just on a seismic scale right now. His kids are going to go to the NFL. I don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s a coincidence that Deion Sanders just started coaching college football randomly right when his kids got a chance to play. Maybe I&#8217;m wrong. Maybe he will coach for a long time, but they won one game before he got there.
A large part of Deion Sanders’ responsibility involves resetting the culture. I don&#8217;t care for the way he goes about a lot of things in doing that. But at the same time, they have to get going now.

On Wednesday, two leading <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/house-republicans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">House Republicans</a> again pressed the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate whether <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/michael-cohen" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Michael Cohen</a>, former President Donald Trump&#8217;s onetime lawyer and fixer, committed perjury during testimony before Congress in 2019.
House GOP Conference Chairwoman <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/elise-stefanik" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Elise Stefanik</a> (R-NY) and Intelligence Chairman Mike Turner (R-OH) sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland, claiming that the DOJ had yet to address the criminal referral they sent nearly <a href="https://stefanik.house.gov/2023/11/stefanik-and-turner-send-criminal-referral-to-doj-demanding-immediate-investigation-of-michael-cohen-for-perjury-knowingly-making-false-statements-while-testifying-under-oath" target="_blank" rel="noopener">six months ago</a>.
&#8220;To date, we received no response from the Biden Justice Department regarding this criminal referral. This is unacceptable,&#8221; the lawmakers <a href="https://files.constantcontact.com/81b76c35801/c6f5d94a-1813-45f1-b0e7-165239741c9e.pdf?rdr=true" target="_blank" rel="noopener">wrote</a>, adding that &#8220;despite an admission from Mr. Cohen that he lied under oath to Congress, the Biden Justice Department did nothing.&#8221;
Cohen <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-sues-michael-cohen-for-500-million" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pleaded guilty</a> in 2018 to multiple crimes, including lying to Congress, and ended up serving time in prison. He is now <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/michael-avenatti-claims-he-is-willing-to-testify-in-trump-hush-money-trial" target="_blank" rel="noopener">slated to testify</a> in a New York City hush-money trial about his role in facilitating payments to women who allegedly had affairs with Trump — claims the former president denied.
Trump, who is again running for re-election, faces 34 felony <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-indicted-on-34-felony-counts-of-conspiracy-falsifying-business-records-pleads-not-guilty" target="_blank" rel="noopener">counts</a> of falsifying business records to allegedly cover up the payments in a bid to conceal damaging information as part of a <a href="https://manhattanda.org/district-attorney-bragg-announces-34-count-felony-indictment-of-former-president-donald-j-trump/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">“catch and kill”</a> scheme to influence the 2016 election. He has pleaded not guilty and <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/trump-blasts-hush-money-case-ahead-of-jury-selection-attack-on-america" target="_blank" rel="noopener">criticized</a> what he says is a &#8220;political persecution.&#8221;
Stefanik and Turner contend that evidence shows Cohen may have made false statements while testifying under oath to the House Intelligence Committee in February 2019. They point to Cohen&#8217;s testimony in Trump&#8217;s New York civil fraud trial in October of 2023 as cause for a perjury inquiry.
&#8220;Mr. Cohen was asked if he was honest during his testimony before the Committee in February 2019. In response, Mr. Cohen stated, &#8216;No.&#8217; When asked if he lied under oath in February 2019 before the Committee, Mr. Cohen stated, &#8216;Yes,'&#8221; their letter said.
Due to a lack of a response by the DOJ, Stefanik and Turner suggested, the agency is actively working to &#8220;help&#8221; President Joe Biden, who is also running for a second term, and &#8220;hurt&#8221; Trump.
&#8220;We urge you to stop politicizing and weaponizing the Biden Justice Department — and open a criminal investigation into whether Mr. Cohen committed perjury and knowingly made false statements to the Committee during his testimony in February 2019,&#8221; they added.
A DOJ spokesperson told The Daily Wire the agency confirmed receipt of the letter but declined to comment further.
When Stefanik and Turner first sent their criminal referral in November, Cohen <a href="https://www.politico.com/news/2023/11/14/trump-allies-michael-cohen-perjury-00127060" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released a statement</a> accusing the lawmakers of doing Trump&#8217;s &#8220;bidding in witness tampering and obstructing justice,&#8221; according to POLITICO.
They &#8220;fail to understand the distinction between explicit and implied; which is how the question was asked and accurately responded to. The topic was further clarified several questions thereafter; which is conveniently and intentionally being ignored. I am not concerned at all with their baseless request,&#8221; Cohen added.
Stefanik, who is seen as a <a href="https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trumps-potential-vp-picks/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">contender</a> to be Trump&#8217;s vice presidential running mate, announced on Tuesday that she had <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/elise-stefanik-accuses-special-counsel-jack-smith-of-election-interference-in-ethics-complaint" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed an ethics complaint</a> with the DOJ against special counsel Jack Smith, who is leading two other criminal cases against Trump.

One of the anti-<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/israel" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Israel</a> protesters arrested on Tuesday at the University of South Florida in Tampa has been identified by police as a 39-year-old man who is also charged with carrying a firearm on school property as authorities allegedly found a gun in his waistband at the demonstration.
Atah Othman, 39, was one of 10 protesters charged for their part in the South Florida anti-Israel protest that police shut down on Tuesday. Along with the felony charge of possession of a firearm on school property, Othman was also hit with charges of trespassing, unlawful assembly, and resisting an officer without violence, Fox 13 <a href="https://www.fox13news.com/news/usf-protester-identified-after-carrying-gun-in-waistband-at-pro-palestinian-rally-on-campus.amp" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>. Among the other demonstrators who were arrested were 32-year-old Daniel Powell and 27-year-old Cameron Pressey.
Two other protesters were also hit with felonies, including Emmanuel Atmosfera, 25, who was charged with aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony with a weapon. Leonardo Tilelli, 23, was charged with two felonies: battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting an officer with violence, according to Fox 13.

The Tampa Bay Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) organized the anti-Israel protest, which attracted between 75-100 protesters — some of whom were not students. The university gave the group until 5 p.m. on Tuesday to clear their encampment off school property. When police moved in to clear the protesters out, they said some demonstrators lined up holding umbrellas and wooden shields, NBC 6 <a href="https://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/police-deploy-tear-gas-arrest-10-on-usf-campus-amid-pro-palestinian-protest/3299716/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.
Police then reportedly used tear gas to disperse the anti-Israel protesters before arresting 10 of them. The Hillsborough County Sheriff&#8217;s Office (HCSO) said on Tuesday, &#8220;After repeatedly ignoring several dispersal commands while assisting the University of South Florida Police Department with an unsanctioned protest, #teamHCSO used tactical skills to evacuate agitators.&#8221;

Across the state, the University of Florida <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-florida-slams-leftist-protesters-while-announcing-arrests-not-a-daycare" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shut down</a> an anti-Israel protest earlier this week and reportedly arrested nine demonstrators.
“This is not complicated: The University of Florida is not a daycare, and we do not treat protesters like children — they knew the rules, they broke the rules, and they’ll face the consequences,” the university said.
Anti-Israel protests have popped up at universities across the nation, including at UCLA and Columbia, where agitators have become more aggressive. On Tuesday, a group of protesters took over Hamilton Hall at Columbia for hours before NYPD officers stormed the building and arrested dozens of people.

In a Wednesday press conference, New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eric-adams-says-columbia-anti-israel-protest-was-co-opted-authorities-saw-evidence-of-training" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> the Columbia protest was being co-opted by people who appeared to be trained.
“There were individuals on the campus who should not have been there. They were people who are professionals and we saw evidence of training,” Adams said. “I know that there are those who are attempting to say, ‘Well, the majority of people may have been students.’ You don’t have to be the majority to influence and co-op an operation. That is what this is about.”

She also asked for her family to have “some time, space and privacy” while she completes her treatment and is then able to focus on making her “full recovery.”
While she never addressed exactly what kind of cancer she’s dealing with, she closed out her message sending love to all “those whose lives have been affected by cancer. For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

The post has since been deleted, but <a href="https://x.com/yashar/status/1785164094963888274">screenshots</a> of the comment are all over social media, with some people suggesting the “Funny Girl” star thought she was sending a direct message [DM] and didn’t realize her post was public.

Florida Governor <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/topic/ron-desantis" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ron DeSantis</a> said this week that the state will not support President Joe Biden&#8217;s desire to bring in Palestinians to the U.S. as refugees.
CBS News <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/biden-looking-to-bring-in-palestinians-to-the-u-s-as-refugees-report?topStoryPosition=4" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that several federal agencies have weighed various options for how to “resettle Palestinians from Gaza” inside the U.S.
The plan relies heavily on cooperation from Egypt, which has thus far refused to take in Palestinians and has erected a large wall to keep them out of Egypt.
Those who qualify would be flown to the U.S. with refugee status, the report said, which entitles them to “permanent residency, resettlement benefits like housing assistance and a path to American citizenship.”
DeSantis said at press conference on Wednesday that he didn&#8217;t think Biden &#8220;crazy enough&#8221; to want to import Palestinians into the U.S., the overwhelming <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/overwhelming-majority-of-palestinians-support-terrorism-against-jews-hate-u-s-middle-east-poll" target="_blank" rel="noopener">majority</a> of whom support terrorism and hate the U.S.
&#8220;That is not in this country&#8217;s interest,&#8221; he said. &#8220;What we&#8217;ve seen over there — and we&#8217;ve seen the reflections in our own society of people out protesting in favor of Hamas terrorists, these are people that cooked babies in ovens while they were raping the baby&#8217;s mothers, executing elderly people — we forget about what happened that day on October 7.&#8221;
&#8220;And to take people from that part of the world and import those blood feuds to this country, that is not in your interest or your family&#8217;s interest,&#8221; he continued. &#8220;We should not be importing people in from the Gaza Strip. And so I hope that that report is wrong. I think if he does that, it is not going to be something that benefits the United States of America. If anything, it&#8217;ll just exacerbate a lot of the problems that we&#8217;re seeing now.&#8221;
The governor called what was happening on college campuses a &#8220;sickness&#8221; that needs to be dealt with.
&#8220;And so I think part of what we need to do to unify the country going forward is to have people that actually want to assimilate into America, that actually believe in our founding principles, not people that just want to replicate a lot of these blood feuds that we see in other parts of the world,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So our view in Florida on bringing in people from Gaza is no, we do not want to do that here in the state of Florida.&#8221;

Students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill were praised this week for rushing in to save an American flag from being destroyed by anti-Israel protesters on campus who were seeking to tear it down.
In what became an instantly iconic photo that was viewed across social media tens of millions of times, a group of young men could be seen holding the large flag, preventing it from touching the ground.
Student Guillermo Estrada wrote that he was walking to class when he noticed a Palestinian flag had been &#8220;raised on our quad flag pole,&#8221; causing him to become &#8220;immediately upset.&#8221; He said school officials and police officers &#8220;were met with profanity, middle fingers&#8221; and &#8220;thrown bottles&#8221; when they arrived to re-hoist the American flag. But the protesters persisted, he said.

UNC-Chapel Hill Students Praised For Saving American Flag From Anti-Israel Protesters: ‘This Is America’

With anti-Semitism rearing its head around the world and polls showing Democrats increasingly <a href="https://news.gallup.com/poll/472070/democrats-sympathies-middle-east-shift-palestinians.aspx">turning against Israel,</a> the Republican Governors Association released a <a href="https://www.rga.org/statement-from-republican-governors-on-jewish-american-heritage-month/">statement</a> on Wednesday, the first day of May, unanimously signed by all 27 Republican governors across the country recognizing May as Jewish American Heritage Month.
The governors wrote, “As governors and community leaders, we are honored to recognize May as Jewish-American Heritage Month, especially as Jewish people around the world face unspeakable persecution.&#8221;
“Our country has a long history of supporting Israel, and now more than ever, it’s important we stand in solidarity with the Jewish community against horrific acts of antisemitism, religious bigotry, and terrorism both in our country and across the globe,” they continued. “Throughout May, we are proud to celebrate Jewish heritage and the many positive contributions that the Jewish community has had on our nation while reaffirming our unwavering support for the Nation of Israel and her people.”
The Jewish community&#8217;s contributions to America trace all the way back to its founding, embodied by Haym Salomon, a supporter of the patriotic cause and a prime financier of the American War for Independence.
On May 14, 1948, Israel declared its independence; in response, former Israeli Ambassador to the United States Michael Oren noted:

The wife of a man convicted of terrorism-related charges was spotted sitting among the tents of anti-Israel protesters at Columbia University who have occupied parts of campus for nearly two weeks.
New York City Democratic Mayor Eric Adams <a href="https://www.nyc.gov/office-of-the-mayor/news/335-24/transcript-mayor-adams-appears-live-msnbc-s-morning-joe-" target="_blank" rel="noopener">said</a> on MSNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Morning Joe&#8221; on Wednesday that the husband of a woman spotted at the demonstration had been &#8220;arrested for and convicted for terrorism on a federal level.&#8221; Adams also said at a press conference on Wednesday that &#8220;<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/eric-adams-says-columbia-anti-israel-protest-was-co-opted-authorities-saw-evidence-of-training" target="_blank" rel="noopener">outside agitators</a>&#8221; were influencing the Columbia demonstration, which ultimately led to a large group of people taking over Hamilton Hall on the school&#8217;s campus before NYPD officers cleared them out and arrested dozens of people on Tuesday night.
While Adams did not name the terrorist or his wife, Sami Al-Arian had posted on social media that his wife, Nahla, had joined the anti-Israel protesters at Columbia last week, The New York Post <a href="https://nypost.com/2024/05/01/us-news/wife-of-convicted-terrorist-was-at-columbia-encampment-before-raid/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a>.

In 2006, Al-Arian <a href="https://www.justice.gov/archive/opa/pr/2006/April/06_crm_221.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">pleaded guilty</a> to offering support to the terrorist group Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The Kuwait-born convicted terrorist was a computer engineering professor at the University of South Florida and was deported from the country in 2015 after his prison sentence ended.
Authorities said Nahla was not a part of the mob of protesters who broke into Hamilton Hall. NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counterterrorism Rebecca Weiner said, &#8220;We have no evidence of any criminal wrongdoing on her part but that’s something I wouldn’t want influencing my child if I were a parent of somebody at Columbia.”
Mayor Adams addressed the terrorist wife&#8217;s presence during his appearance on MSNBC&#8217;s &#8220;Morning Joe.&#8221;
&#8220;At what point, Mr. Mayor, did you and the NYPD view this as something more than a student-led protest?&#8221; host Willie Geist asked. &#8220;You mentioned the outside agitators. Columbia talked about them and their students. They said it became clear to them that it wasn&#8217;t just students inside that building. At what point was it known to you that this was something more and that there were people who maybe had plans for worse than what some of the students were up to?&#8221;
&#8220;I believe that when we started seeing footage and we were able to identify what was always my belief based on some of the organization&#8217;s individuals, but once we were able to actually confirm that with our intelligence division and one of the individuals&#8217; husband was arrested for and convicted for terrorism on a federal level,&#8221; Adams said.

Actor Jeff Goldblum has joined the growing list of celebrities who have announced that they won&#8217;t just throw money at their kids — and they expect them to learn to support and fend for themselves.
Goldblum, 71, made the comments during a recent appearance on <a href="https://www.iheart.com/podcast/1119-table-for-two-105373224/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">iHeartPodcast “Table for Two With Bruce Bozzi,&#8221;</a> where he explained that his two children with wife Emilie Livingston, 41 — Charlie (8) and River (6) — should not grow up expecting a windfall.
The &#8220;Independence Day&#8221; star said he&#8217;s already told them as much, recalling a conversation in which he told them, &#8220;Hey, you know, you&#8217;ve got to row your own boat.&#8221;
Goldblum went on to say that there was real value in teaching kids to be self-sufficient, and argued that the kids would also value the knowledge that they had made it on their own.
&#8220;It’s an important thing to teach kids. I’m not going to do it for you. And you’re not going to want me to do it for you,&#8221; he added. &#8220;You’ve got to figure out how to find out what’s wanted and needed and where that intersects with your love and passion and what you can do. And even it if doesn’t, you might have to do that anyway.&#8221;
Goldblum is far from the only celebrity to say that he plans to push his kid to fly on their own. Basketball legend <a href="https://nypost.com/2021/10/29/we-aint-rich-im-rich-shaqs-money-message-to-his-6-kids/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Shaquille O&#8217;Neal</a> said in a 2021 interview that he has made it clear to his kids that he&#8217;s the one with the $400 million fortune, not them.

Court is back in session with the Honorable Matt Walsh presiding. Episode 5 of “<a href="https://www.dailywire.com/show/judged-by-matt-walsh" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Judged by Matt Walsh</a>” was just as full of twists and turns as the four that preceded it. The theme of this week was “boundaries” – or lack thereof.
First up, plaintiff Sabine Beauchamp explained how she was suing her brother for engaging in a romantic relationship with her boyfriend and causing her “emotional distress.” She was seeking $2,000 to account for her emotional turmoil plus all the money she put into the relationship.
“I found out that he was sleeping with my man at the time,” Beauchamp began before Judge Walsh cut her off.
“I already don&#8217;t want to hear anything else about this case. Case dismissed,” he replied, before reluctantly agreeing to hear more details about the sibling drama.
Beauchamp went on to discuss how she’s very close with her brother and started sharing details about a new boyfriend she met on Tinder. The plaintiff said she must have told her brother “too many details” because it made him want to also become involved with the man she was seeing. 
Next, Beauchamp described introducing her boyfriend to her brother after six months of dating. During the introduction, which took place at a bar, she recalls them giving each other “googly eyes.” 
Judge Walsh asked the bailiff to describe “googly eyes.” The bailiff said they come from the arts and crafts store, which caused the judge to temporarily lose his patience and bang the gavel. 
“Are you telling me that a woman has never given you googly eyes? Is that what I&#8217;m getting from this?” Walsh asked, which caused the bailiff to hang his head. “Why did it have to get sad like that?” Walsh said.
Beauchamp continued laying out her case. She said her brother went to use the bathroom, and a few minutes later her brother also said he had to go to the bathroom. Walsh observed that while women are known to use the restroom at the same time, it’s not as common for men.
“In fact, if I notice that I&#8217;m going to the bathroom and there&#8217;s a guy that I know also going to the bathroom that I&#8217;m going to, I don&#8217;t want to go be in the bathroom at the same time as him. So one of us has to peel off. This should be suspicious to you – not just suspicious, but this is like a glaring warning sign that something&#8217;s going on,” the wise judge said.
Defendant Jam Dubuisson insisted that nothing was going on between him and his sister’s boyfriend. The bailiff was instructed to read text messages submitted as evidence, which he did with the added flair of making a kissing noise to reflect the kissing face emoji. 
The text message reading got even wilder as the bailiff imitated the see no evil monkey emoji after comments made about how the other person’s body looks in certain outfits.
“Please take these out back and burn them,” Judge Walsh instructed the bailiff after viewing printouts of the text exchange 
Dubuisson denied that the text messages were from him. “My sister has a tendency that when things go wrong, she comes up with somebody else to blame,” he said before producing texts of his own which he claimed proved Beauchamp and her boyfriend broke up because she admitted to cheating.
The bailiff acted out the text exchange once again, sending the courtroom into fits of laughter.
“I think back to a time just this morning when I hadn&#8217;t met either of you or heard your story. And I wish I could recapture that lost innocence, that ignorant bliss, that happiness that is now gone from my life forever,” Walsh said before awarding damages.

Next up, plaintiff Rick Shaw stood before the mighty throne of justice, seeking to be paid for batteries he picked up while at work. Shaw said he works as a professional Santa Claus. He clarified that he “didn’t do malls” but rather visited people’s houses “where they’re comfortable.”
After some confusion over whether Shaw asked the defendant, Deanna Maye, for money to reimburse him for purchasing batteries, which he first claimed to not remember doing, more drama about the situation was revealed.
Shaw said he asked the defendant at one point if she would be his “number one elf.”
“Now, I want you to think long and hard about this question before you answer it. But when you looked at Miss Maye, what made you think, oh, she&#8217;d be a great elf?” Walsh asked.
“Because she&#8217;s little,” Shaw replied. 
“So you looked at her and said, ‘Oh, you&#8217;re short. You could be an elf,” Walsh replied. 
“Yeah,” Shaw said.
“Wait, are there not services that Santas can go to to find an elf?”
“I&#8217;m sure they are, Your Honor.”
“Is there not, like, a Craigslist for short people?”
“You&#8217;re right,” Shaw said. “There could be, but I just happened to meet this lady and thought she would be perfect for the job.”
Shaw next described how he had a tendency to “run his mouth,” which led to him referring to the defendant’s mother as his “future mother-in-law.” 
Judge Walsh confirmed that Shaw was already married. He next made an astute observation. “I’m going to go out on a limb on this one,” Walsh said. “Your current marriage is not your first?”
“Oh, no, no,” Shaw responded.
“How many times have you been married?” Walsh asked.
“Uh, the lady I’m married to now is number seven,” the plaintiff admitted.
Next up was Maye’s chance to tell her side of the story. 
She said she did agree to work as an elf alongside Shaw, as a volunteer, despite what she perceived as inappropriate behavior on set together in the past. Maye produced proof of herself setting boundaries with Shaw after he allegedly proposed to her while they were working together for the second time.
The bailiff was again asked to read the text exchange. For Shaw’s messages, he threw in a few “Ho Ho Hos,” which Judge Walsh chastised him for.
“You&#8217;re submitting things into evidence that are false. That&#8217;s perjury. You&#8217;re committing perjury,” Walsh said as the courtroom erupted in laughter.
Following deliberation, Judge Walsh delivered the verdict.

MSNBC host Alex Wagner and her guest, New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg, assessed the chaotic situation on many American college campuses and worried that the mass protests, anti-Semitic chants, and violence could spark a new Reagan era.
Wagner and Goldberg were responding to the New York Police Department&#8217;s actions in clearing protesters from Hamilton Hall — which was seized and barricaded by anti-Israel protesters — and they drew a direct comparison to 1968, the last time &#8220;anti-war&#8221; protesters had taken over that same building.

&#8220;Michelle, the — Hamilton Hall is — for people who are not familiar with the Columbia campus: in April of 1968, 56 years ago, hundreds of students seized the building during protests over the Vietnam War.  I do not think that was lost to the people who stormed Hamilton Hall. After a week- this is, again, in 1968, police entered through underground tunnels and cleared them out. Over 700 people were arrested,&#8221; Wagner explained.
&#8220;Right, and that’s remembered as a really dark chapter in Columbia&#8217;s history, which is why it’s so breathtaking to see them repeated,&#8221; Goldberg added.
Wagner went on to say that, with the 2024 presidential election fast approaching, she could see many similarities to the 1960s and the division being felt by many Americans on various issues.
&#8220;The country feels catastrophically divided on every — on every issue from basic facts to an actual policy vision,&#8221; she said. &#8220;Echoes of 1968 and I just wonder, you know, it’s hard to imagine that this is — that this imagery of the NYPD storming Columbia in this — in this moment is not going to reverberate in ways that we cannot yet see across the political divide.&#8221;
Goldberg followed Wagner down that road, noting that no matter how unpopular officials and law enforcement had become as photos circulated of them cracking down on protests — sometimes violently — the anti-war protesters also lost popularity and public support.

&#8220;I think we should remember what the kind of images of protest disorder did in the late 60s. Because even as the Vietnam War became increasingly unpopular, so did the antiwar protests. And it was in part the backlash to that as well as to urban crime that gave us not just Richard Nixon but kind of un — except for a four-year oasis of Jimmy Carter, unbroken Republican rule until Bill Clinton,&#8221; Goldberg said. &#8220;And so I would expect that we are already seeing the backlash to this, but I would expect it to be ferocious.&#8221;
&#8220;The late &#8217;70s were a period of retrenchment. And then 1980 saw Ronald Reagan and a conservative agenda that was fiercer, more focused and more effective than maybe any other conservative agenda in ways that we are still grappling with to this day,&#8221; Wagner complained, taking the comparison a step further. &#8220;I mean, it’s the establishment. The Heritage Foundation, the Federalist Society. Any number of right-wing organizations. A master plan to retake the judiciary. I mean, what we saw in the aftereffect of the Vietnam War was really a brand of conservatism, a new Right that the country had never seen before.&#8221;

While many colleges that have been overtaken by anti-Israel demonstrators have begun <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/university-of-florida-slams-leftist-protesters-while-announcing-arrests-not-a-daycare" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cracking</a> <a href="https://www.dailywire.com/news/nypd-storms-columbias-hamilton-hall-after-pro-hamas-protesters-illegally-took-control-of-building">down</a> on the encampments and violence, Northwestern University has instead caved to protester demands.
In <a href="https://www.northwestern.edu/leadership-notes/2024/agreement-on-deering-meadow.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a document</a> released Tuesday, Northwestern has vowed to make concessions to protesters, including five full-ride scholarships for Palestinian students and funding two Palestinian faculty members for two years. The university also said it would commit “to fundraise to sustain this program beyond this current commitment.”
The university will also “provide immediate temporary space for [Middle East and North Africa] MENA/Muslim students.” Following that, Northwestern said it plans to provide and renovate a house for these students “as soon as practicably possible” after it finishes its current renovation project, slated for completion in 2026.
The university will include Jewish students in a “process dedicated to ensuring additional support for Jewish and Muslim students within Student Affairs/Religious &amp; Spiritual Life.”
And while the university did not say it would divest from Israeli companies, it did say it would re-establish its Advisory Committee on Investment Responsibility, allowing students, faculty, and staff a say in how the school invests its endowment, opening a door for those who want to divest from Israel.
The university also said it would “answer questions from any internal stakeholder about specific holdings, held currently or within the last quarter, to the best of its knowledge and to the extent legally possible” within 30 days or provide a reason and timeline for a later response.
As for the camp itself, Northwestern said it would permit “peaceful demonstrations” on the campus’ Deering Meadow through the end of the spring semester, provided such activity adheres to university policies. The school said one aid tent would be allowed to remain in the encampment, but all other tents must be removed.
In addition, protesters may not use bullhorns or any other devices that project or amplify sound unless approved in advance. Only members of the Northwestern community will be allowed in the demonstration area unless authorized by the university.

However, the university said it would “publicly condemn the doxing of any community member and will advise employers not to rescind job offers for students engaging in speech protected by the First Amendment.”
In <a href="https://www.northwestern.edu/leadership-notes/2024/april-29-agreement-on-deering-meadow.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a statement</a> announcing the agreement, Northwestern said the agreement “represents a sustainable and de-escalated path forward, and enhances the safety of all members of the Northwestern community while providing space for free expression that complies with University rules and policies.”
Northwestern also blamed “antisemitic and anti-Muslim/Palestinian” incidents on people not affiliated with the university, and said any members of the community “who can be identified participating in such acts will face disciplinary action.” Most of the anti-Israel protesters wear masks to hide their faces.
The agreement has been met with condemnations from those who support Israel. The Anti-Defamation League called the agreement “reprehensible.”
“The agreement between Northwestern University leadership and encampment organizers is reprehensible, dangerous, and a case study in failed leadership,” the organization’s Midwest division said in <a href="https://twitter.com/ADLMidwest/status/1785082201551360319?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1785082201551360319%7Ctwgr%5Ed7325dbe194c27754c73958154c959dd7f24f038%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonexaminer.com%2Fnews%2F2984191%2Fadl-slams-northwestern-agreement-anti-israel-protesters%2F" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a statement</a> posted to X. “For days, protesters violated campus codes of conduct and policies, intentionally fanned the flames of hate and antisemitism, and wreaked havoc on campus life. Instead of holding the perpetrators accountable, the university rewarded them. It would be unbelievable if it wasn’t true.”
Israel’s consulate in Chicago also condemned the agreement in <a href="https://twitter.com/IsraelinChicago/status/1785125600232874369" target="_blank" rel="noopener">a post</a> on X, saying the university “declared itself a safe space for Antisemitism.”
“We are appalled by Northwestern&#8217;s decision to turn its back on Jewish and Israeli students who have been targets of hateful harassment and intimidation. This decision rewards the pro-terror, anti-Israel, and anti-America aggressors on campus,” the consulate wrote. “This appeasement agreement is a dark day in Northwestern history.”
